Update on Pat

We went to the doctor today to get the results of his MRI. I did not think we would ever get there. First of all it is almost 50 miles one way to get there. We p[lanned early, left at 8am to get to his 930 appointment. We had the intention to stop on the way and get something to eat. WRONGGGGGGGG. We ran right smack dab into a traffic jam on a 2 lane road. Apparently there was a wreck and we were stuck in traffic. We turned off on a side road because it was announced on the radio that the wreck was in town! Town was 4 miles from where we were! So off thru the country we went. Lucky for Pat I knew these back roads. We made it to Cleveland with 10 minutes to spare. No breakfast. Once in the doctors office we waited for him(the doctor). Pat was all worried. I felt that the doctor would send him to physical therphy. He came in and gave us the news. He does have a disc bulging out. He is sending Pat to physical therphy. Now the real nice worker's comp people are making him drive to Chattanooga to do it. So lets see he is to drive 30 miles 1 way to PT. O yes, they said since he worked in Chatt and was going to be there anyway that he could either have it before work or when he gets off work. Well he gets off at midnight so that wont do. Now, we do not know what time they will have him come in for it. This is getting stupidier by the second. So we go back to office and sign papers on Wednesday. Disc troubles never go away. Gotta make sure he does not get screwed. More important than ever that I get a job. Must make sure that we can afford to eat if things go bad. I know this was kind of rambling but that is how my thinking is right now. I think I will go play a game so I can get straightened out.

POGO TAKE ME AWAY!!!

  1. I've got a "little" experience in that "ramblin'" department. It's good for you. Play some games, relax. It will be fine. rich

  6. Bless your heart, if it isn't one thing it is 2 more. Like I said what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Do you feel like Hercules (sp) yet? I hope I will work out with the PT. I know it will help. but I think it makes you hurt at first. when you do it. How are you feeling now?? Take care hugs, Denise

  8. Isn't workman's comp the pits? You work all your life to help make someone richer and they act like you hurt yourself on purpose.
I hope all turns out good.
    I love Pogo too.lol

  9. I hate dealing with workman's comp! My roommate was in a very serious construction accident and we are constantly fighting with them to pay for the simplest things relating to his accident. I do the talking as he doesn't have the couage to disagree with them. Driving that distance isn't good for a bad back either is it?

  12.    My sympathies are with you ... I had three back injuries in the past 30 years ... just kept working because I had kids to support and didn't want it on my job record.  I chose jobs that would let me do what my back liked.  Self-employment works best ... when I went to truck driving ... sitting a lot, my back improved!
It's no picnic ... I hope you can get this all squared away sensibly about the appointments ... It's the squeaky wheel that gets greased!
