Moods and other dumb stuff

I really need for spring to get here. I don't know if my mood swings are due to the rain, the cold, no sun, hormones or loneliness or a combination of it all. Sometime in the past week my mouth turned down and I am having a hard time making it turn up again.Time to pick myself up and dust myself off and start over.

Helen Hayes:

All through the long winter, I dream of my garden. On the first day of spring, I dig my fingers deep into the soft earth. I can feel its energy, and my spirits soar.

Thursday Thirteen-The Letter H

Thursday Thirteen
  1. Horses- I love burying my face in Precious neck and smelling her warm horse scent. After my surgery, when I should not have been around them because of the danger of being pushed or knocked around, she came to me and put her head on my shoulder and stood so still. Her ears flattened as a warning to the others to stay away.
  2. Humanity- Just when I think that it has sunk to lows that it cannot dig it way out of, a shining star comes along and restores my faith that there are people that do care and are not in it for the money. Give a hand Up written by Mary
  3. Heart- Brook is involved in Jump Rope For Hearts , The American Heart Association Follow this link to help her help others
  4. Hormones- thyroid, female both give me HOT FLASHES. I need to have them rechecked
  5. HOT FLASHES- see number 4 For ones caused be females hormones try magnesium sulfate
  6. Hello- not enough people say it nowadays. I guess they are afraid of getting involved. So HELLO!
  7. Help-everybody needs some at least once in their life. Some people will not ask and you will need to offer it or just do it for them.
  8. Horticulture- plants. I have actually managed to keep a house plant alive for almost a year! It is an African Violet.
  9. Howie-I cannot stand that show Howie do it
  10. House- a structure that does not make a home.
  11. Horns-Sometimes we have to grab the bull by the horns and just go for it.
  12. Hope. I hope that my daughter gets a job soon.
  13. Health- Guard it. You need it to live.
If you want to play along go to Izzy and Emmy(click the picture on top) and leave your link there also click the link below for others that are playing.

Tuesday I took Pat to the dentist and he had his bottom teeth puled. He had his top done years ago. Now we really look like a hillbilly couple complete with broke down cars in the yard, chickens running around and a lazy dog. LOL

I am ready for spring. I don't know why I am ready other than the fact I am sick of being in the house. I am tired of my back hurting simply because the weather has rain in the forecast. Heck I can tell when the rain is coming before seeing the forecast.

I have my Brussels sprouts and broccoli plants ready to be put in the ground. I just don't have the ground ready. Hard to till wet ground.

Food, love and boots, oh my!

Valentine's Day seemed to linger this year. It was beginning to feel like an all week affair. NOT that I am complaining! LOL. Valentine's Day I got my gifts, flowers, card and a box of chocolate. Not much else happened that day as it was not the best of weather and Pat was a bit on the sick side. The next day I received some more chocolate and some tea cups.Monday I got some more tea cups and a teddy bear. Tuesday I got some motorcycle boots . Pat got a matching pair on Wednesday. AND he got me another teddy bear in a cup. I just don't what to do with that man! LOL. All I have to say is, this has been the most loving Valentine's Day ever.

Pat is working new hours at work. He no longer has the weekends off. He is working 4 days a week, scheduled for 40 hours a week, 10 hour days. he did not get his 40 hours in this week. He works 7 am -5 pm on Sundays, then turns around and goes back in at 2:30 pm on Mondays. He is off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and then works Thursday and Friday and off on Saturday. Saturday is a bust for doing anything because he has to get up at 5:30 am on Sundays to go to work. The only good thing is he still has a job. It is going to be hard adjusting to the new hours.

I am adjusting to not having teeth. I have been able to add a few foods into my diet now. Lo mein noodles will be one thing I will be eating a lot of, along with my creamed soups. Beans are another things I can add now. This morning I had a biscuit with sausage gravy. I put the sausage in a chopper and chopped it up real fine. I also made the gravy a little bit thinner than I usually do so the biscuit could soak it up good and be soft. Tasted like heaven! LOL Smoothies of yogart and fruit will still be my biggest meals . I still have plenty of extra weight that needs to come off.

I am starting to get my energy back and need to get busy cleaning house again. See y'all later

Give....a hand up: Temp food help

Give....a hand up: Temp food help

There is a lady that needs a bit of a helping hand right now with some groceries. If you can do anything how about clicking the link above or the picture.

The whole nine yards

Yesterday was Valentine's Day. I must say this about it. It was wonderful. First thing I get is a bouquet of my favorite, yellow roses. Then I get a card that made me cry. The verse inside said, " I'm so glad my heart found you." Heck I am tearing up again just writing about it. All that before bed! LOL Umm, remember Pat does not get home from work until 2 in the morning so it was Valentine's Day when he got home. LOL Later on in the day after we get up, he gave me a Heart box of chocolates. All in all, it was a very satisfying day. I must say, it was most likely the best Valentine's Day I have ever had.

Give....a hand up: A blog to offer a hand up.

Give....a hand up: A blog to offer a hand up.

GIVE..a hand up or get a hand up~

It may be easier to ask a stranger for something in a time of need rather than a friend or neighbor. Need something? Just ask, and I'll post an entry to see if anyone has what you need. Not cash, cars, plasma tvs or Coach bags :-0, but a warm coat for your child, a blanket for your grandmother,a care package when food is scarce, or an outfit to go on a job interview. Someone out there may have just what you need. So ask me. Some items may be used but all are given with love.

My past friends from AOL Journals will remember that Angie started a journal called The Giving Tree. I'd like to continue with the spirit of that journal here on Blogger. If you are having a bit of a hard time, or know someone who is, contact me with a request and I will post it on this blog. Then anyone who reads the blog who has or wants to obtain the item will do so and contact me to pass it along to its new owner.~ Mary

I can be reached at Frankandmary@aol.com

Many people in this world need many things. I mean real needs not wants. In days like we are having now, it is a blessing to find someone that is willing to reach out and help. Bless you Mary. You have a heart and soul of gold.

toothless advice

My advice to anyone that is going to have all their teeth removed.
  1. First of all make sure you have a blender.
  2. Next, stock up on frozen fruit. You will need them for smoothies.
  3. Another good thing is to get powdered Slimfast to mix in those smoothies.
  4. Get potatoes and learn to like potato soup, smooth at first then you can add lumps after the gums heal.
  5. Stock up on creamed soups, No teeth no chewing! LOL
  6. have gauze on hand
  7. a toothbrush for your tongue and gums(don't use it on gums until they heal!)
  8. make sure you have multi vitamins as you will be not taking in enough of the necessary stuff
  9. AND PAINS PILLS ARE TO BE TAKEN!!!!!!
  10. and think of the smile you will have after you get your new choppers!

Teeth and motorcycles, doctor and kids

Pat and I went on several rides this past weekend on the motorcycle. I know I looked a bit silly. I wore a mask on the rides on days when normally you would not see anyone wearing one. I found out real quick that the wind HURT! While we were out Pat turned into the Huddle House without thinking so we could get a bite to eat! LOL The look on his face when he realized what he did was priceless. He gets all apologetic and starts saying I'm sorry baby. I laughed and told him that I have been watching you eat all week now so what is one more meal. I did get a piece of cheesecake. It is one of those foods you really do not have to chew on. I can suck on a straw now so I am making my slim fast smoothies. I also bought some of those drinks that are supposed to help your immune system. At Walmart they have some with all Spanish labels on them for 88 cents for 5 verus $2.50 for 6 name brand kind. I also have started taking my multi-vitamins. As for calcium, I think I am getting plenty of that as I am drinking a quart or more of milk a day now.

Friday I took Brook to the doctor to get a shot, Gardasil, second in a series of 3. While I was there, I had them check her out as she has been coughing and wheezing a bit. She was wheezing them but her strep test came back negative and her ears were clear. She had been running a fever some at night, one night was over 102. They said just keep on with what I was doing. Well Today I had to take her back to the doctor. I knew I would have to when I took her there Friday!. This time they put her on Augmentin for 10 days as her ears and sinuses were infected. Poor thing could not hear at all out of one ear. They did a hearing test on her and she only heard 2 of the tones! She will get better now.

I have worthless cats! Fat, worthless cats. I have mice! I was so mad when I saw one in my house! S yestrday I bough mouse traps. I have caught 7 mice so far. I will have to fix a hole in the wall that was behind a dresser that was back to the shower opening in Brook's bedroom. I am so mad. I refused to feed any cats for the last 2 days except for Buddy. He can't catch mice seeing how he is crossed eyed.

Okay Heroes is on. See everyone later!

ouch ouch ouch

Well the teeth are gone. I did not realize how much pain I would be in. having my belly cut open hurt but this is something else.It is better now but no way can I go without pain pills. It is a bone weary hurt. Ever had a toothache? I have 23 of them right now. I know it will get better. It is getting better. I also know that I have some pretty teeth to smile with in a few months. That is the only thing that keeps me goping.

Brook has been sick this week, congested cough and a fever. She is better now also.

Pat went to the doc and he is going to keep him on predisone for another month. Thinks that if we can get past the winter season he will be better. I hope he is right.

Crystal is doing good. She was running and kicking up her heels the other day. Precious has finally lost some weight. Now I need to get a corral built to keep her in for part of the day after the spring grass starts coming up. Dancer has decided to allow himself to be rode without having a mre with him. That gained him some points with Pat.

Is winter almost over? I am so ready for spring.
