Soup's on

It has been raining off and on all day today. It has stayed cool but humid. Right now it is almost 4pm and is only 79 degrees. I wish it would stay this temperature. The sun keeps peeking out from behind the clouds, soon it will become July again! LOL

I got up this morning and decided that this was the perfect day for making soup. So out came the crockpot and the cutting board. I had made a roast earlier this week in the crockpot so I had tender beef to put in the soup. Then I started looking in the fridge and pulling stuff out. That stuff went in 1 of 3 places, crockpot, dog dish or garbage. Then to the freezer because the pot was not full yet. In the freezer I found a few things that had like 1/2 cup of stuff in it, so into the pot. I diced several tomatoes from the garden and put them in. So let's see what all is in it.... beef, green peas, white corn, red potatoes, celery, onion, brussel sprouts, yellow corn, lima beans, green beans, carrots, tomatoes, garlic, crowder peas, basil, orgengo and a bay leaf. My house smells so good now!! A pan of cornbread and I am good to go! Yes, you read it right, no salt, no pepper.

Hummm. I think I will get started on that cornbread ( made with skim milk).
