I was reading my mail this morning and in it was a letter from the ASPCA. It contained a warning to dog owners about the dangers of eatting grapes and raisins. I never knew about this. I knew that they should not have chocolate and of course anti-freeze is not the prefered drink for them. But grapes? WOW! Here is the link to the story. Dogs and The Grapes of Wrath This study was just about dogs. It is possible that maybe grapes and raisins will do the same thing to cats and other animals. They do not say that in the story, it is just a thought that I had. Just to be on the safe side no grapes for any of my animals!
YEs I get that ezine too. My cocker is always running and grabbing the grapes that fall on the floor. Lori
ReplyDeleteAs a dog owner...I am grateful that you passed this along. Every dog I have ever owned has enjoyed a variety of fruit. I will make sure from now on that grapes and raisins are NOT allowed.
ReplyDeleteomg and my tasha loves grapes.....yikes.
ReplyDeleteNow this is something I didn't know. Tiger is more choosy with what people food he will eat, probably because I didn't give him table scraps. He get a bite of people food every now and then. Bruno, my mom's dog, he's a different story. That little critter is a black hole when it comes to anything he might deem 'people food'. This is good to know, will pass it along to other doggie/cat owners.
ReplyDeleteSteph~
I get that ezine, too, and I posted it on my journal. Thanks for getting the word out.
