update on Brook

Brook has bounced back very well. She got right to it and cleaned up her room. She even ran the vacuum without whining about the noice! She wrote a letter to the litle boy apologizing about what she did. After being so good I did decide to allow her to spend the night with her friend. She did not know until I took her over to the little girl's house.

Yesterday was Field Day at Brook's school. I tossed a baseball for 2 hours and then had lunch with Brook. It was fun. I did not realize just how many kids knew me until all these kids started running up to me and hugging me or saying hi. My little Brook knows a lot of kids! Even the high school kids know her! Of course, she does take Tae Kwon Do with a group of high schoolers and ride the bus with some in the morning.

My niece is in town for a Christmas Tree Growers Assocation meeting. Her and her husband have a Christmas Tree farm in Nicholson GA. Here is a link to them We will be meeting them later on this evening at Ruby Tuesday for drinks. Well, they will drink, I will watch them. I am the driver. LOL

Bye Until later!

more thoughts

This part here is in addition to what I wrote in my Journal Jar.

Did your parents ever have a baby-sitter for you?  Were you ever left in someone else's care.

When I was a little baby my grandmother stayed with us and kept me. After that if I ever needed watching Mrs. Larkin would keep me. She kept all kinds of kids. My mama was a SAHM until I started school. I think when I started second or third grade she got a job. I suppose I became what they can a latchkey kid then. Except for one thing, our door did not have a lock on it! Small town, low crime rate, good place to raise kids! I would ride the bus home from school and mam would be there a little while later. If I had homework I would do it. Now that was a big if. I usually did my work right after the teacher gave it to us.

When I was growing up it was easy to leave kids alone for awhile. My sister watched us when,( and it was a rare event) my parents ever went anywhere. In todays times you cannot leave your children alone. Times have changed. Some of it is for the better, other for the worse. I don't know if there are more child sexual preditors out there now or if there are just more people speaking up about it. I do know that there is more exposure to what is bad and evil in the world.

The good people of the world should, no they NEED to expose more of the good things that are happening. There is a great need for the good news. There is a great need for people to take a stand and say no more. Expose our children to what is right, not what is wrong. If someone is always exposed to the ugly and negative things then that is how they will see life. Smiles will be few and far between. Yes it may be a lot of work to find the beauty and goodness is things, places, people, but if you don't look , you will never find it. Good spreads just like evil and bad does. Why not spread good? It will make the world a better place for our children and their children.

What is your favorite animal and why?

What is your favorite animal and why?

This is easy. My favorite animal is a cat. I have had cats all my life. Right now Sebastian is my oldest cat. I have had him longer than any other cat, or person for that matter. He is my friend. I know when he is hurting, he knows when I am hurting. He gives his love to me like no one else ever has. I talk to him and he sits there and listens. When I talk to him and pet and rub him, I can feel whatever is troubling me ease up. When I was hurt and strangers were coming in the house, instead of running and hiding like he had always done in the past, he laid there with me. He tolerated strangers touching him rather than let me be alone.  He is old now and does not play as much but he does love more.

!!

The last couple of days have been very frustrating parent wise. Yesterday Pat and I went on a field trip with Brook's class as chaperones. We went to the IMAX and watched Sharks then toured  the Aquarium. Everything started out pretty good and then a stranger came and possessed our dear sweet Brook. When asked what was causing her to act the way she was she responded that it was because we were ignoring her. Later on she gives me big time attitude and lip at TaeKwonDo and I spanked her.
Now today she gets taken to principal's office for the second time this week. She decided that it was okay to put glue on a little boy's water bottle. He did not know and drank it and got sick. Her excuse because I am mean. Me. She does not know how mean I can be if I allow myself. For endangering someone else she got another spanking. She is grounded and will not be spending the night with her friend on Friday. She has to buy the little boy another water bottle and write a letter of apology.
I know there are many of you that do not believe in spanking. I do believe in it. I do not use it as a regular means of punishment. I do not leave bruises or welts. I do not use a belt. I do not spank when I am angry. Yes, I have read all the studies on the pros and cons of it.
I am fairly certain of why she is acting out and there is nothing that I can do to change the reason. I am hopeful that a unified front will cause this stage to pass faster.

doing some thinking

I have been doing some reading and got to thinking about what people see in their mind when they hear certain things.

How about this. What do you picture when you hear the word hillbilly? An unwashed overall clad man sitting in a rocker on a porch of a shack with his feet propped up on a crocked rail? Maybe with a jug of moonshine and a coon dog there too? What about a female pool shooter? Let me guess, big boob, short skirt, bimbo that hangs around a bar. What about a homosexual? A Southerner? Don’t even get me started on skin color or nationalities!

People have pre-conceived ideas of what a person is based on their sex, race, religion (or lack of), background, where they live or were born, among other things. This is called bigotry. I can hear people now saying how dare you call me a bigot. Everyone, no matter how tolerant they are have some bigotry in them. Each person must look inside themselves and find what it is and strive to change that. No one can make you think or feel differently, only yourself. If you open your eyes and really look, you will find plenty of examples of non- stereotypes. Not everyone in a suit is a stuffed shirt, not all Southerners are loud, mouthed rednecks that like NASCAR, not all gays are all about sex. The list goes on and on.

Here in J-Land, we have in our on way, either confirmed what some people have thought or we have elicited a change in some people. I have enjoyed reading journals of people who have different lifestyles than me. The more I read the more I learn about people from all walks of life. I am seeing what other people think about different subjects. I do not always agree with what they say, I may not agree with what they are doing. I have found that thru each journal I read I learn something about them and myself. I find myself thinking about what I know, or thought I knew.

I want to thank everyone for sharing with me, for helping me to grow as a person. For teaching me more about things I know and for teaching me things I did not know. Most importantly, I want to thank everyone for their friendship.

?

These are my journal jar questions for today.

What household jobs do you like and dislike the most?

I like doing laundry. I know I am weird. I like the smell and feel of fresh laundry. You put the dirty stuff in and wash it. All the dirt goes down the drain. Then into the dryer it goes, to come out warm and smelling good. I love gathering up a load of towels and squeezing them and burying my face in them and sucking in a deep breath.

The thing I hate the worse is cleaning up the kitchen. I love cooking but I hate the cleanup afterwards. For some reasons the cleanup is a let down.

Do you like rain storms?  Do you have any memories connected with rain or storms?

I like rain. I do not like storms. I remember twice as a child turning off the air conditioner and being thrown to the floor because of lightening stricking the A/C unit. Twice we had to replace it! Living in an area that is prone to flooding, I have seen enough problems caused by heavy rains. Working in a hospital, I saw  enough death and injuries as a result of rain and roads. I prefer the soft gentle rains that soak the ground without washing away the soil.

Did you serve in the military?  Where and when? Share an experience. I was never in the military. I was married to a serviceman. I spent my time at Fort Campbell(Air Assault).I started to join the service at one time. I did have 2 branches actively trying to enlist me. I had taken an appitude test and had scored really high in a certain area that drew attention. They were both offering a very large enlistment bonus, medical wavier(for my deafness), and several other things which were not in the normal package. I turned it down because the one thing they would not do is allow me to keep custody of my child. I was a single parent. At that time, you had to relinguish custody for your entire term of enlistment if you were a single parent.

Key?

What sort of key are you? I got this from sistercdr.

clock key
You actually don't unlock anything; you're the
winding key for an old grandfather clock. Few
people know how important you are unless you
aren't there, but there are a few who treasure
you all the time. You help people keep moving
forward, but you also help them through the
present by reminding them of the past.

What sort of key are you and what do you unlock?
brought to you by Quizilla

Hey there!

This has been a busy week and weekend.

I got a cell phone. My first one ever! I am 45 and have not had one of those things plastered to my ear! I now have this strange growth on my ear! I get the free time and hubby and Candy get the minutes! LOL No problem there. I don't know anyone to call except for them and 2 other people. The good thing is all 4 of us have Verizon so I can call them free! LOL That's it. I have 3 numbers in my phone book. Do you have a cell phone? How many numbers are in your phone book? Who is your carrier?

Brook went to a birthday party on Saturday. It was at the park but quickly got moved to the house! It was cold and windy. Of course the kids did not notice but us adults sure did! I had a good time. Brook gave the little girl a Neopet and a box of books. The books are ones that she learned to read with.

Tonight, Brook has Tae Kwon Do. She has it 3 times a week now. Saturday she has a demo team event at one of the parks in town. Pictures will be taken of course!

Ok. I confess. I blew my diet this weekend. Saturday I had pork chops and eggs  for breakfast and hot dogs for lunch. Dinner was a grilled cheese and chips. Sunday I had roast, mashed potaoes, peas and pineapple upside down cake. Did I mention I am on a low cholesterol and diabetic diet?

We rode a little yesterday. The wind was blowing and they were a bit jumpy so we stayed near the house. Most of my time I spent on grooming Precious. She is so hairy! It will be summer before she gets slicked out!

Pat and Brook went fishing yesterday evening. Brook was tickled pink. She came rushing in the house telling me all about how she caught the most fish. She caught 5 while Papaw only caught 1. LOL What she did not realize was that Papaw spent all his time baiting her hook and taking her fish off. He did not mind. It made her so happy and that made him happy! I read him an entry this morning about getting a hug and he said that hugs are one of the very special things that he looks forward to.

That's it for now. I have one more load of laundry to do today. Then it will be time to fix some dinner and get to TaeKwonDo.

questions

My questions for today concerned world events and what would I do over in my life. I answered them in my Journal Jar if you care to see them.

Do you know?

Lyrics to 'The Star Spangled Banner'
Written by Lawyer Francis Scott Key During War of 1812

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say does that star spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?

Patrick Saturday Six

Patrick's Saturday Six is being held in a different place today. The questions are here. You can answer there or in your own journal and leave your link there. Or you can go here and leave your link or answers.

1. If you could ask any question of the head honcho of AOL about the recent journal concerns, what would your question be?
I realize that outsourcing is cost effective for your company.Do you realize that if you continue to allow people that have a barebones understanding of English to monitor TOS and journal issues that you will lose customers?

2. How many journals do you visit regularly in an average week...or...if you use a blog aggregator service like "Bloglines," how many journals do you have in your subscription lists?
I probally have close to 75 on my regular list. All of those do not update daily. If they did I would never get away from here!
3. Back in July,
I asked which of the Seven Deadly Sins (pride, envy, gluttony, anger, greed, sloth, and lust,) you were most guilty of. Now, it's time to pat yourselves on the back and figure out which one you are the least guilty of.
lust
4. Recent reports indicate that some pharmacists are refusing to sell their customers the controversial "morning-after pill" when the customer prevents their prescription. Should pharmacists be allowed to refuse to sell a medication for which a customer presents a valid prescription based on their own religious beliefs?
Never. What if they decide well I don't believe in prolonging life so I will not sell heart medicine either.
5. Take
this personality test: What type of personality does it say you are? Then go back to this page, click the link that matches your results. Read the description: how accurate do you think it is about you?
Your Type is
ISFJ
Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging Strength of the preferences % 78 12 38 1You are:

  • very expressed introvert
  • slightly expressed sensing personality
  • moderately expressed feeling personality
  • slightly expressed judging personality
here is what Dr Keirsey says about it. ISFJ
    6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #50 from
SpringsNymph: You've received an unexpected windfall of $50,000. What home improvement would you spend it on? I would put a screened in porch on the front and back. I would also add a room on the back side of the house.

Cat

I took the neatest test today. It is called How Young Is your Cat? I took the test for Sebastian. Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Sebastian's CatAge is 83.9!
That's 7.5 years younger than the average CatAge for Sebastian's breed.

CatAge is the biological age of your cat, measured in people years.

I am getting angry. I know I have not filled up my FTP space yet it is saying permission denied disc full. What is disc? I deleted some that I never used and still nothing. Is anyone else having trouble with this today? Is it just me? I am scared now to go to AOL help! Earlier today when I went to AOL Hometown, it did not even list my journals or homepage. What is happening?

Downtown

My Journal Jar question was about taking a trip downtown as a youngster. Boy did that ever bring up memories! I used to love going downtown! Before shopping malls and mass merchandise stores there was downtown. Read about it here if you want.

Sad

Today started out pretty good. Got Brook off to school, had a cup of tea, then headed out to picked up my load of compost. On the way there I saw a sad sight. There was a horse laying on the side of the highway dead. I thought to my self that one of the horses that are pastured by this pond just a short distance away had gotten out and been hit. I hated seeing that. I got over to Candy's boss's house and only saw 2 horses there. I asked Candy where Jimmy was. She said he is probably in the barn. I told her what I saw and so we went out to make sure. Jimmy was gone. We went down to the road and it was Jimmy. My daughter cried. I have never seen my daughter cry over the death of an animal. She called her boss up and told her, at least she tried to. She was so upset that I had to do it. Her boss was vacationing in Florida with her GF. She was upset but did not blame Candy. She had only had the horse for about 3 months. No gate was left open. I checked the fenceline (as I was much calmer than she was) and found a place where there were fresh dirt scraped up. It loks like the horse may have slipped under the fence. The fence was on the edge of a steep embankment at that point. There was enough give in the barbed wire and space that he could have slipped under it. I hope he did not suffer. I hope it was fast. He has already been buried. A neighbor took him home and another neighbor came over with a backhoe and buried him. Rest in peace Jimmy.

Monday, April 18, 2005

Today has been a day! The day started out good and so far it is still that way! This morning I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise, my birdds singing and a donkey braying! Yep, Eyore was here. Decided to pay his friend Belle a visit! His person showed up and took him home about 9 this morning. I then went and bought some gas for the truck and my equipment. Pat got up and I cooked his breakfast and he left to go put in a job application. While he was gone I went outside and tilled up my little garden spot.(Read about it here ) When Pat got home he had a load of gravel on the back of his truck. So for the next 2 hours or so we shoveled out gravel in different spots in the driveway. We are starting to get a few lakes( one of which has been named Lake Holloway!). After that we came in and I folded towels and put the sheets in the dryer and started dinner. I made chicken and rice. We ate and off we all went. Pat and I had a memorial service to go to for his cousin. Brook and Candy went to Brook's Tae Kwon Do. This is the first one I have missed =( . Brook is in bed getting her brain sleep. She has tests tomorrow, pass the first grade tests! Of course she will have no problems passing it.

I think I am going to hit the sack here pretty soon. Tomorrow is another day, and I am looking forward to it.

It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else
--Erma Bombeck

questions

These questions were answered in my Journal Jar.

Do you like picnics? Have you been on any picnics that stick out in your mind?

ONE WORD on how to live successfully....

Describe your mother's wedding dress. What do you know about her wedding?

What do you think of TV and what is your favorite show?

Did you celebrate Halloween as a child? What costumes did you wear?

It is cool right now. The sun is coming up showing streaks of orange and pink in the sky. It looks to be a wonderful day. One load of laundry done and another started, dishes unloaded from the dishwasher, and now I am listening to Chip serenade Peaches. A beautiful way to start the day. Welcome to Monday.

Sad day

Today is a sad day for Pat. He found out yesterday that his cousin Ronnie died on Thursday. He had a fatal heart attack at home alone. His daughter found him. He was only 52 years old.
Pat is pretty tore up. They grew up together. They used to do a lot of things together. They both had a love of fishing. I don't think anything pleased him more than to be in a boat on the river fishing for the big ones!  He turned them loose more times then taking them home.
Pat is pretty upset. They had made plans for Ronnie to get  my VW Rabbit running this weekend. After that they were going fishing.
Rest in peace Ronnie.

I have been picked!

Hi Celeste,

I am pleased to announce your Journal, Garden Time, has been selected as one of our 'Editor's Weekly Picks.' It will be featured at http://pc.channel.aol.com/journals starting today, and remain there until next Friday.

During this time, please feel free to update your page, although it would be most helpful if you didn't do anything to your journal that would force us to remove it as an Editor's Pick.

Finally, please be sure to let all your friends and family know you're being featured.

Congratulations and happy Journaling!

Thanks,

Joe
Journals Editor

I am sorry

Sorry about this. Too many alerts today!

Pat gave me a present today when he got up. . Isn't it adorable? Its' nose lights up and it says," Ehhh, somebody loves you."

I made blueberry muffins this morning for breakfast BEFORE he gave it to me.

I recieved a jury summons. I report June 6th. Not grand jury. I am to be maybe picked to be on a jury trial. Why couldn't it of been while school was in section? This will be a hardship. They do not excuse for lack of childcare.

Pat is back to working and his back still hurts, but he sucks it in and acts like a man. Stupid.

Well that's it for now. Off to the laundry room. Tonight I am going to take a bath, not a bubblebath but I will use bath salts. It is ME TIME!!! Flylady's orders!

Have you filed? You have 9 hours and 21 minutes left EST. I filed in JANUARY

*

In my other journal Celeste's Journal Jar I answere a question about my parents and church which brought up an old memory of my Daddy. I wrote about it there. You can click this link to go there if you do not have it on alerts.

YAYYYYYYY

Celebrating 1 year!

Thank you to all my friends for joining me. I could never have done it without you. All of your kinds words, encouragement, the sharing of your own lives with me, have made the past year of my life one of the best I have ever known.

Where did it go?

I have no idea where today went. I got up this morning. Then everything started full speed. Paid some bills, got Brook up and off to school. Threw a load in the washer, then took the garbage out to the road. Then my daughter and I went off to Walmart to do my grocery shopping. Then the bank and coop for feed. Got back home and cooked some breakfast. Hash browns, bacon and eggs for them, Grapefruit and toast for me. Clothes in the dryer, clothes in the washer. Clothes ready and fold, sort and hang them. Clean kitchen back up, run dishwasher. Then off to the bathroom to straighten out my makeup drawer. HUMMMMMM I need some new stuff. No powder, no eye shadow, wrinkle cream almost gone..... I have got to keep my finger out of my nose. Dang allergies are giving me bloody boogers. Brook gets home and it is homework time. Something is missing.... O yea Pat left early to go apply for new job. Stupid people don't know how to treat a loyal, hardworking employee. Fixed Red Baron pizza for dinner, went to Tae Kwon Do, made it home and got Brook in bed. She did not want to go. Wanted to beat her.LOL I am sleepy. Stayed up to 2 am last night dot up at 5:30. There you have it, the boring highlights of my day. I forgot me time today. Now I am too tired to even enjoy me time. Tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow...

Today's entrys on my other journals.

w

This is Wednesday right? My days are getting mixed up again. I hate when that happens. Things are going okay with my daughter here. We may be able to make it together! We have had a few disagreements but what mother and daughter doesn't? She is dealing with Brook more often although I do not agree with everything she does. Her boyfriend wants her to move back in but so far she is refusing to do so. Good for her! The sun is starting to come out right now. I might get some work done outside today if it will stay out or at least not rain! Time to eat now. I will be back later.

*

Yesterday and today were busy and not busy days. Actually I think I became a bit lazy. I really did not want to do anything so I did as little as possible. The sunburn has worn me out some as it is interfering with my sleep. Right now it feels like a hundred needles pricking me all at once across my back and chest. My shoulders just hurt. They have a few small blisters on them. I am using pure aloe vera gel on it but ouch!!!!!!!!

Brook had Tae Kwon Do last night and tonight. Tonight Master Lee said that she did not need to come next week for Demo Team practice as she will not be preforming at the mall next weekend. She has not picked up on the routine well enough. It is a dance routine for a children talent search. That is okay. She took it very well.

Next week is an important week for her. She will be doing testing to pass first grade. She will do fine at it. She is a smart girl.  That is it for now. I am going to play a few games and just relax. I think I will take a sleeping pill so I can sleep tonight. See yall tomorrow!

another one

I have started a new journal called Celeste's Journal Jar. Nothing but questions with the answers supplied by me. A way for me to learn about me and a way for you to learn about me. I got the idea fron Danielle who got it from promiseluv in The Journal Jar.

Sunday

Yesterday was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, there was a light breeze blowing and all the animals were happy. After Brook and I got home we decided to get the horses out and really do a good grooming job on them. We brushed and curried Crystal and got her to looking pretty slick. Now Precious was another story. She would be a good northern horse. She does grow a good winter coat. I brushed and curried until I thought my arms were going to fall off. She still has a good coat of hair. Belle is another one with lots of hair. She is leaving big white places on the ground where she is rolling. After all the grooming we decided to give them a bath. It sure would be easier if we could put them in a tub! Actually they do pretty good. For a long time Crystal would not stand still for a bath. She panicked whenever water would touch her. Precious would stand there and just let you do anything to her. Out came the wash buckets. Crystal had lots of mud on her. She had decided that the best and fastest way to get to Pat was straight down the middle of the field thru the mud that the recent rains have decided to bless us with. First thing Crystal did after her bath was roll in the dirt.

After that she had to come over and give Pat the look while we were bathing Precious.

LOL It was so funny.

After the bath Pat rode Belle. She did so good. She is usually a bit squirrelly when you first get on her but then quiets down.

While Pat was riding Belle I rode around on the lawnmower. During that ride I mowed around the peach trees. See my baby peaches? They are about the size of peas. Both trees are loaded down! Well that was pretty much it for yesterday. I got sun burnt as silly me forgot that I have had no sun on my shoulders in a long time! Aloe time! O yes. One more thing. If you use my camera to take silly pictures they are in danger of being posted!

First Day

Today is the first day of my new journal. It may not have much interest to some people but that is okay. It will be dealing with my attempts at working my garden. Introducing Garden Time

Words of wisdom

Friends are the best things that will ever happen to you. But that doesn't mean you have to keep the same ones. People change, so do you...when that happens accept it and move on. but don't forget to remember your old friends; they have helped make your life what it is now.

If you smile someone will smile back.

If you get hit with a ball and you start crying everyone will walk over to see how you are. If you're having a bad day but you're not crying only your best friends will.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Never mess up an apology with an excuse.

People may forget what you said but they'll never forget how you made them feel.

Being happy doesn't necessarily mean everything's perfect. It just means you've decided to look beyond all of the imperfections.

A request

My friend Denise is asking for prayers. Click here for the reason why.

Weekend assignment #54

Weekend Assignment #54: Tell us all a single piece of wisdom you've learned from personal life experience. It can be a small thing, it can be a big thing, a simple tip or trick or the most important thing you've ever learned from life. But whatever it is, you should be able to state it in one sentence. That way people will remember it easier.

Listen to your gut. It usually knows if it is full of crap.

Thanksful Wednesday

I got this from Julie  She is doing a piece called Thanksful Wednesday.Tell which friend are you most thankful for and why.

I am most thankful for Connie. We met back when I was a young mother returning to high school to get my diploma. We knew each other before that, sort of. Our parents went to the same church but she was several years younger than me so no way would I hang out with her. Somehow age did not make much difference this time. She made me feel much less awkward at attending school with kids so much younger than me. I was welcomed into her group of friends no questions asked. Thru her I discovered the fun of high school. As the years have gone by, our friendship has grown. We have been thru rough times and good times, husbands, boyfriends, sickness and health, being apart and together, life and death.. There have been long periods of time when no calls were made then days when we can't get enough of each other. We have been together 25 years now. I look forward to at least 25 more.

Conversation

" Mamaw, I am gonna vacuum my room."

"Okay, pickup all the big stuff first."

"Mamaw. It won't work and I did not do anything to it!"

"Brook, you did not plug it in!"

"Oh."

"Mamaw it is loud. Can you do it for me?"

"Nope."

"Ugh."

I am not sure about her. Part of this conversation was that of a 7 year old. The last response was that of a teenager!

I found me!

Click here to see where I live. Click here and find your house on the map then click satellite to view it closer. LOL I was wondering why the map was showing a road on my road. It was my driveway! In the very center of the map is my place.

My 1 year anniversary with AOL journals is next week but I am unsure if I will be around. Internet and phone service are luxuries I may not be able to afford much longer. Shoot, electricity is something I may not be able to afford. Well it seems that worker's comp has decided to cut his check down even lower. His company is paying him a reduced wage and so worker's comp is now paying him based on that wage not what he was making when he was injured. And guess what? It is legal. So now He is making less than someone that works for McDonald's. So what to do? Apply for public assistance? Nope, his truck is worth more than $1500 that alone cuts him out. Quit? That is probably what they want. That way they do not have to pay for anything including the bills he has already accumulated. Start doing his full job before the doctor releases him? That will cause the same thing to happen, he will have to pay all the bills. Do it anyway? What will stop them from firing him. NOTHING! In Tennessee you can be fired and the employer does not have to have a reason. They cannot violate federal law. So that means they cannot fire you because of age , sex or race. As a matter of fact there is a law on the books that say if you put in a job application anywhere your current employer can fire you. And how about this.. If you do not have a written contract they can reduce your pay to minimum wage

Pictures

As promised, pictures. This first picture is one of a bird cage I won yesterday as a door prize. Pat and I went to a bird show in town and we won a prize! LOL We need it too. Our cage was too small for our teils. And the color goes with our color in the living room!

Now this is a picture of Brook in the talent show on Friday. After kicking Master Lee down, she is picking him up! No wires attached!

This next one is one of her at her belt test breaking one of the 4 boards she had to break. Of course no problems there! That is Instructor (Mrs) Lee holding the board. She is not a lot taller than Brook is!

Today is a good day. The sun is shining, Pat went fishing, I still have a cold. And my daughter moved home with a broken heart  .

My Brook is a purple belt now!

There are also 7 new black belts at the school.

Brook's demo at the school went great this morning! I was so proud of her. It made the kids feel so good hearing people ooo and awwwwing. The cheers and applaud was wonderful. Needless to say they were the hit of the school talent show. Pictures to follow. I am too pooped to edit right now!
