You've failed many times, although you don't remember. You fell down the first time you tried to walk. You almost drowned the first time you tried to swim. . . . Don't worry about failure. . . . Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.
-- Sherman Finesilver, US District Court Judge
Hello Celeste - Sherman Finesliver used some very wise words there....Ally

ReplyDeleteGreat advice...thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI would hope that advice would be heeded by the new appointees to the Supreme Court. rich

ReplyDeleteHi, Celeste - I like this quote... I hope I'm not showing my ignorance by asking who is this judge and why did he say this? Just curious about the circumstances... was he addressing a graduating class? Was he on the bench advising a recently convicted person, trying to offer hope? Was he being interviewed for a newspaper article??? Just curious! (I already said that, didn't I?) And his name is interesting, too - Finesilver. It flows from the tongue. And eloquent quote from an eloquently named individual. How lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Thanks! I think I needed that. Too bad we can't view our successes as "big" as we do our mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on it.
