Why is it as I get older times seems to go faster? Some days it seems that I am no sooner out of bed when it is time to go back to bed. I guess that is better than wondering when the day will ever end.
I looked at the calendar today and realized that in 2 weeks we will be halfway to another new year. In 4 weeks school starts for Candiac. She becomes a brand new college freshman. In 6 weeks Brook starts second grade. Right about the time she starts school I will be harvesting my corn.
It is summertime. Why do they call them the lazy days of summer? Busy days of summer. Indoor work, outdoor work, entertaining bored kid that I can't tell go jump in the pool! Time is SLOW for her.
You think it goes fast now? Wait till you are 60!
ReplyDeleteTime does fly by. Sometimes I wish I could add a few more hours to each day. Poor Brook, no swimming in this summertime heat.
ReplyDeleteCeleste I see your point and I understand, but be glad your busy, I'd kill to be planning my canning, running errands and my most missed thing helping others. tending a garden , being busy, being needed, being useful.

What, it's Christmas already?
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I am offline for four days and look what happens! I had to go into archives to catch up! I am behind because of the (hopeful) adoption.
ReplyDeletePoor little thing! My niece broke both of her arms jumping out of a swing. It was so hard for her. I had to wipe her butt and everything (she was twelve)...
Poor little sweetie, and poor grandma...
and in 23 weeks it will be christmas
ReplyDeleteIt will definitely be a long six weeks for you and Brook! When is she getting her casts off, anyway? JAE
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does runaway with you as you get older. I really wish it would slow down a bit! I hope Brook is doing well :-)

Give Brook a hug from me. I know it's hard for her.

As we were taking a walk yesterday my love and I realized that next week we will recognize the longest day of the year... after which the will begin to slip southwards again and daylight will slowly decrease until darkness consumes over half the day. Time is a bit of an illusion, it passes so quick when we are enjoying things too much. Perhaps it is a reminder not to take anything for granted.
ReplyDeleteMom warned me how short time would be when I got older. I had NO idea! Life is slipping by...enjoy the birds, enjoy the flowers, enjoy the commute to work, enjoy the sunrise...it's fleeting, so let's make an effort to enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, Summer seemed to last forever. Now, it's over in a blink of an eye. I hope Brook is coping and finding SOME enjoyment this summer.

Amen seems to be more work around here all summer.
