I count yesterday a success. My ribs were so good! I rubbed garlic and onion powder on them, started them in the oven, just enough to get them a little off pink. I then transferred them to the grill. I had some hickory chips smoking on it so they got a good dose of flavor. My BBQ sauce was a mixture of several things. I start with Kraft Hickory honey, add onions, crushed garlic, chopped bell peppers, honey, Dale's Seasoning, Whostershire Sauce and apple juice. I start mopping that on the ribs after they have been on the grill for about 30 minutes. About every 10 -15 minutes I put some more on. I had baked beans, corn on the cob, bread and Orange Fluff too. Notice I have Orange Fluff every holiday! One of Candiac's girlfriends came down with her 2 boys. Her GF had to go to her Mama's house and was unable to come down. Everyone ate too much! I still have a watermelon in the fridge waiting to be cut. Maybe I will do that today.

I did some tilling last evening in the big garden. Of course it has rained all night long so no planting today. Supposed to rain all week. Lucky for me, everything I am planting can take summer heat.

Well got to go. I need to get Stinker a collar that will protect his neck from this strange dog that is attacking him. I will catch this dog one of these nights. It has the nerve to come up to our porch and attack our dog. It is bigger and stronger than Stinker. Stinker will fight to the death if need be. He has part boxer in him and cowdog. He will protect his homebase from anything or die trying. I have not been able to get a shot at the other dog. I do not want to risk hitting Stinker. I like that big ole mutt.

  2. Surely you do not mean that you would actually shoot that other dog??  I mean there has to be alternative ways, find out where he is from, get it reported, make his owners keep him under control, but please do not consider shooting him.

  4. And I thought I had ribs today.  That was before I read your entry.  My stuff was just masquerading as ribs compared to your feast!  I do hope you are able to solve the stray dog problem.

  7. I can't say I could resist shooting a dog that came on MY property and hurt MY pet.  Obviously, the owners aren't controlling the beast, and it's just a matter of time until it hurts a child.  That is unforgivable.
