how it went

I have decided no more birthdays! Every year something happens. 28 years ago I found out I was pregnant, on my birthday. Not married and no support. Oh sure I had my baby's daddy. He was not happy. Over the years, different things, some things worse that others.... I had to place my daughter in a children's home for several months...(she needed a safe environment) on my birthday. Anyway, this year I had to mop the floor. My washer of 4 years old, decided that it was time to show me where the little bit of water had been coming from. I thought it was my A/C unit leaking on the floor. i was wrong. The tub had a crack in it and yesterday it decided to put the water on the floor almost as fast as it went in the washer! All that water gushing out of the machine also shorted out the pump motor. We already knew that it would cost almost as much to fix that one as it would be to get a new one. So with a great amount of curse words(his not mine. I had tears) the washer was thrown (not really, just figurativly) out the back door. The one thing our extened warrenty did not cover was a PLASTIC TUB! I did not know that until yesterday.

Anyways it make up for his ill temper he took me to Wendy's for a free Frosty Jr. They were giving them away this past weekend. Then we went to Walmart and walked around. I bought a new purse and he got a new shirt(both were clearance items) and got new fishing licenses. Our Walmart has something new. They are selling live crickets. Not the ones in a cardboard carton but the kind they have to scoop out and give you. I like that! Ilike fishing with crickets. I always have good luck with them.

Today I bought a new machine. A Maytag with a stainless steel tub, lifetime warrenty on it and basket. Very nice machine with 25 wash cycles and a second rinse! I love that part. I cannot tell you how many times I have put something thru another rinse cycle!

Right now Brook is outside in the pool. It is not thru filling up but is playable in.  I have the window open so I can hear her and of course I do not get more than a minute of typing done and I am looking out the window.

Time to get supper cooked and Brook ready for Tae Kwon Do. See y'all later

  1. Well, at least you got a new machine with more on it, so something good always comes out of something bad.  It was nice to see you got so many good wishes yesterday.  Have a good week xxxx

  3. I'm sorry your birthday was full of washer woes.  At least you got a new washer.  Nothing better than a new appliance, huh?!  So, you're a Taurus?  Our birthdays are close, mine is Wednesday.  :)

  4. Darn! There is nothing like NOT having a washer and when it decides to pee all over the floor before it dies, that just beats all!
Hey, I'll bet the Frosty Jr. did the trick and made up for it. I forgot about the promotion and never got my freebie!

  6. Happy belated Bday (sorry, I'm a loser!) and Congrats on the new washer.  Our poor, sad washer was used beyond belief when we got it, and while moving it here, the lid BLEW.OFF.  Yes, it blew off.  Now we have a half of a clothes pin holding down that little button so that it will spin.  It still gets my clothes clean, and I'm too cheap to buy another one until it dies.  ElCheapo...that's me!

  9. Fishing with crickets....what do you catch with them as bait ?  My hubby would be interested to know as he`s a keen fisherman.  I do hate it when the machine goes for the final time.  Last year when ours `died` on us, it cost more to repair than for a new one, luckily it was under warranty so it didn`t cost us a penny....thankfully! :-)
