REsults
My doctor called me today withthe results from my MRI. Sounds a bit scary. She said I have bulging discs and compressed discs in my neck. That it appears that there is a lot going on in there. Explains why I have a lot less freedom of movements in my neck. It also explains why it does not take much at all to "throw" my neck out. I have an appointment with a Orthopedic doctor on the 4th of next month. Now before we get any firther, I am not considering surgery at this time. I do want a good evaluation on what is going on and what can be done. I am not ready to risk what movement I do have. I guess this does eliminate any chance of me taking TaeKwonDo.

I hear you, but . We all get "problems" with our entire spinal cord, as we age. I was "lucky" enough to have surgery 2 years ago, on my neck, as a result of "numbness & tingling" in my left ring & little fingers. Being a "little" claustrophobic, the "joy" of wearing a neck brace for six weeks, was one I would not want to experience again, anytime soon. However, "bulging discs and compressed discs" are not things to treat lightly. Some of these things can be helped greatly through chiropractic treatment (with care in the selection process) Whatever you decide, keep us posted. rich
ReplyDeleteI hope something can be done for your problem. I'll remember to pray for you.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about your neck pain, but my mom had it real bad. She finally did have to have surgery. She like you waited until she could not wait anymore. She was scared of what might happen to her if she did it. Thank the Lord it helped her. I hope they will find something to help you so you don't have to have surgery. But God's will, will be done in all things. So We will just keep praying for you and that God's hands will be on you with this. Take care of yourself, hugs, Denise
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your diagnosis. I wish it had been better, but I have been through it and if you are forced to undergo surgery let me reassure you that recupertion time is not over long and it is wonderful to feel the freediom of neck movement again. God Bless! Pennie
ReplyDeleteI hope your next appointment goes well and that something can be done about your condition. "What a drag it is getting old," as the song goes. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI too would view all options before considering surgery. Seems some of the comments here are favorable for it. I wish you the best in what ever treatment you decide on and above all take care of yourself. Paula
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are taking this one step at a time and are going to an orthopedic dr. so you can get all the information you need to make a good decision on which way to treat this. Please keep us informed on how you are doing....How is Brook coming along with her TaeKwonDo ? I will keep you in my prayers tonight, hon.
