good brakes

Today was a normal day, clean house feed animals, play pool and take Brook to Tae Kwon Do. On our way home from tae I kept picturing a deer going thru my windshield. I know... not good. I hate when I do things like that. I always have bad thoughts like that in a car. Usually I see my car going off the road into a ditch or hitting a wall. Ok so I am a bit weird.

Brook is doing real well in Tae right now. She got upset tonight because she did not know her form. Silly girl, tonight was the first night she has ever done them. I thought she did real well.

I have a pile of stuff I was supposed to take to Goodwill tonight. I forgot to load them up into the car. I will take them tomorrow.

On our way home tight I found out that the brakes on the car work real good. There was a deer in the middle of the road and 2 on my side of the road. I slowed down and the doe in the road ran off to the side and took off with the other 2. Just as she left the road a deer from the other side of the road decided that it needed to cross the road! Lucky for me and the deer I had already slowed down I hit my brakes hard and missed her by inches! One more second and she would have been crossing my hood and possible going thru my window! That shook me up. Just moments before that was when I saw a deer go thru my window in my mind.

I think I will play some games. that left me a bit rattled.

  1. I've done that.  I picture something happening in traffic, and see something similar the same morning.  It's always in the morning for me.  I think it's God's way of reminding us to "be careful, you're driving a couple tons of metal at 65 mph...keep your eyes open."

It sounds like a bit of precognition is helping keep you and your precious cargo safe.  I am glad for both your sakes that you have this gift.  I can see how it would make you feel a bit wierd, though.

I can relate to forgetting to load the Goodwill stuff in the car.  I'm guilty of this behaviour more times than I like to admit.

  3. Praise the Lord you had already slowed down. This could have been really bad. We have lots of deer on the roads where we live. John works at night so he is really careful going to work.
