No class tonight. My back is not better. I can walk and carry things and stuff like that but there is no way I can get up from going down, sitting, laying or squatting. I need help to get up! I did this to myself. I know better than to turn with a 75 pound bale of hay in my hands and toss it from a height.
Baby appears to be doing fine for now. I need another bucket to keep her some fresh water in. For now I keep reusing buckets.
It is supposed to get down to 18 tonight. It was 22 last night and 12 the night before. Winter has finally arrived for our area. I hope it stays around long enough to make the bugs die back some.
I have been thinking of building a greenhouse. Just a small one. I would like to start plants for my garden instead of buying them. I am thinking of growing lots of tomatoes this year and peppers and making salsa for sale. My daughter's place is right on a highway and it would make an ideal place to sale produce! Just a thought. Still thinking.
Brook is here for the night again. She wants to stay with me when she is sick. She is running a low grade temp now. Nothing serious. The doc said just a head cold. I think she will develop a sinus infection if we are not careful. It usually happens.
Time to feed Baby.( My daughter thinks with the name Baby I won't be able to eat her.)
I think our high today was 18. Brrrr. Hope the back is better soon.
ReplyDeleteI can't even lift a 75 lb bale of hay - I hope your back is better ASAP! "Baby" is my younger beagle's name, and we aren't eating her.

my grandaughter Chancey is the same way Celeste...when she is sick...she wants to stay with me....makes me feel kinda nice....but then it makes me wonder about daughter....hmmm??? anyway...sure sorry your back is out and yes...you did a no no....I don't think I could life a bale that heavy...let alone throw it somewhere....sheesh girl....do take care....rest it up....and your green house sound real nice....makes sense to me....Hugs from KY....Ora
ReplyDeleteWe had a bobby calf named T-bone one time. I don't know if we named him or if Mom did, making it easier on us. Anyway, with a butcher for a dad, it didn't bother me one bit to bite into a juicy steak that I had raised. Cold hearted? Maybe; a carnivore nonetheless.
ReplyDeletePOOR LITTLE BROOK ...IT IS NORMAL THAT SHE WANTS TO BE WITH YOU WHEN SHE IS SICK CELESTE....YOU ARE LIKE A MAMA TO HER....HOPE YOUR BACK GETS BETTER....MAYBE SOME MUSCLE RUB AND TYLENOL FOR ARTHRITIS WOULD HELP...
ReplyDeleteLOVE YA,
CARLENE
I'm sure you'll be able to eat Baby, if that's what you got her for. I am glad your back is somewhat better. I KNOW I could not life a bale of hay two inches off the ground. Keep taking care of yourself. I'm glad to know you are taking such good care of poor Brooke-hope she heals fast, too. Margo
ReplyDeleteWOW you are strong if you can lift a 75lb bale of hay. Sheesh! I wouldn't be able to budge it! Hope your back feels better soon.

ReplyDeleteThe greenhouse project sounds like fun and has the possibility of yeilding some revenue if you proceed. I say go for it! Sorry your back is still bothering you, I hope it gets better soon. I had to laugh at your daughter thinking the name Baby will keep you from harvesting your new addition to the farm when the time comes. I'm betting that that won't stop you for one minute, LOL. I hope Brook gets to feeling better soon.

I sure hate that you can't go to your class, but you need to take care of yourself. I know how you feel about doing it to yourself. When I eat too many sweets I get sick and I know I did it to myself. For several years we had a small green house of sorts. we took a piece of ply wood, put it on saw horses, then we took some old glass windows we had and made like a T-P, we put bisqueen on the ends and used clothes pins to close it and keep it open when we wanted it open. We had all of these things at the house, and it worked real good. didn't cost us anything. Maybe you have some things around the farm to use, so it won't cost soo much. The nice part was we could take it down when it was not in use. hope you and Brook feel better.
ReplyDeletei hope you feel better soon. baby is a cute name. is she/he to cute to eat? lol
