"I am an Optician, what your experiencing could be adaptation problems but your optician should be able to do some adjustments to the glasses that could make the adaptation easeir to bear.  Sometimes just changing the angle of the glasses will aleviate alot of what you are experiencing.  Sometimes new bifocal wearers cannot handle the full prescirption and need to ease into it.  If it does not get better for you in a week then ask your eye doctor to recheck you and maybe your presciption can be altered to make your new glasses more wearable
One adjustment has already been made. This is the same problem I had 27 years ago( last time I wore glasses) After so many years of seeing things the way (size, shape ect) it is a hard adjustment. It is a psychological as well as a physical adjustment. It will happen. I have been instructed to wear them at least full time for the weekend to help. When my new contacts come in I will no longer be able to wear them to sleep in. I am angry that my eye doctor last time did not tell me that I was developing problems. My doc said that as progressed as my eye problem is he should have seen it .

  1. I know it's hard to get used to new glasses.  It took me about two weeks to get used to mine when I started wearing them. I always felt like I was walking downhill and was going to fall.
    Good luck with it.

  2. I received three monsters and a test!  LOL  Where'd the monster go?

I know how you are feeling about your glasses ... I had to make an adjustment a few months ago and thought I'd go crazy!  Keep the faith.

  3. I read another entry about how you were frustrated with how screwy your journal was looking all the sudden -- but I couldn't comment on that one.  AOL is messing with us again.  SIGH

  6. Hi I'm gg, you left a comment on my blog, that was kind of you, but when you say I need help, I have tried ten ways from sunday trying just that but I don't know where I can find help, I am a great grandma of 6, a grandma of 6, and a mother of 2, and I am on a fixed income. I can't afford to pay for help, therefore I rely on what I can find for free from AOL.

Anyway about your problem, I don't know if I came in the middle of the story, but do you know what your eye problem is?  I wore bifocal's for approximatly 30 years, when my doctor said I had catarac's (sp?) and made an appointment for me to have them removed from both eyes, at the same time the doctor removed them he placed permenant lens in my eyes, everything is great until I get tired then everything gets blurry and fuzzy.

    I live in Georgia also.

I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you will lick this problem with your eyes, it soungds like you have a great outlook on life, so just keep that smile on your face, a smile is worth more than all the gold you can mine.

  7. One entry is across the top all the way.  The rest are to the right of your sidebar as usual.  Mighty peculiar.

  8. I had the same problem when I had to wear my glasses a while back.  You'll get used to it.
