Rambling on

I took Brook to the doctor yesterday. She believes that it is a lymph node that is swollen. She was pressing on Brook's neck and turned to me and asked does she have a high pain threshold? I had to answer yes. This child did not cry when she had 2 broken arms. She cried when she saw her papaw though! LOL. So she placed her on antibiotics and wants to see her again in 10 days instead of the customary 2 weeks. She said that it may not go all the way down but it should reduce in size. She said it could be the body's response to the tick bites on her head. I hope so. If it does not go down in size then we take the next step, whatever that is. I will not allow them to push it aside and treat it minor! I found out that her biological grandfather died on lymphoma and so has 2 other members of his family(Candy's father that died last month).

Scampi had to go to the doctor yesterday also. He has not eaten anything since Friday and he was one sick puppy! When I got him in he had a temp of 103.8! that is pretty darn high! The vet said that he had some type of infection that was causing him to react like we do if we have the flu. He could hardly walk! He gave him a shot which caused him to start perking up within a few hours. He is not happy with the meds I have to give him though! He is feeling so much better today! Back to trying to steal the cat's food as I write!

The horses are staying in for now. Crystal is out of heat now but there is next monthh and we have to go thru it again! Precious has already thrown 2 shoes. That makes me a bit mad! She has only had them for 2 weeks! We rode the horses for a bit yesterday. It was not long enough. It never seems like it is. Pat said that I am doing so much better riding. I feel more confident in myself. Precious balked one time and I got her back on track with only 1 try! I am proud of me! That horse has got to lose weight.  We both need to  walk more and eat less!

Easter was a beautiful day. We had a dozen people here with 5 kids. They had a ball hunting eggs after lunch. It was a good day.

It is still a bit nippy here. They say another cold front is coming thru and of course more rain. I am not sure at how much of my garden survived the hard freeze we had. they are cool weather plants but it got downright cold! I hope I do not have to replant. If I do, then I do. Time to get busy. I have lots to do and I want to get my spring cleaning down in the spring!

  5. Brook is beautiful!

Thats good your not going to let them overlook the lymphnodes---especially since her genes are already predisposed.

  6. Brooke is so beautiful.  Wow she's really growing up.  I had my lymph nodes swell up once from a cat bite.  So it could be the tick bites that caused it.  I'll keep Brooke in my prayers

  10. I agree Celeste, Brook is a real beauty.  I hope the antibiotics work quickly for her, it must be such a worry for you.  I`m glad Scampy is better after his treatment, it`s so hard with our pets as they can`t tell us how they feel.

  13. Brooke is such a doll!

I'm glad they aren't too worried about the lump, but you are smart to keep on them if it doesn't go down.  Hopefully, it's nothing.

    XOXO

  16. I guess you can't use a Q-tip to stop the "heat" like you can do in cats!  LOL!

  18. hum.  I do pray that she responds well to the medicine and that all just disappears.  May want to mention the sick puppy to the doctor.  Although we grew up thinking dogs don't make people sick, there are things we both can get and or carry.  -  Barbara
