colonscopy

Pat and I were at the hospital a little before 6 am today. After checking in and paying the deductible (pay first nowadays), we went up to day surgery. Shortly afterwards they came for Pat to roll him back. After about an hour the doc came out and showed me what they found. He removed 3 polyps, 2 of which were a substantial size, and said that he has Diverticulosis. We will get the lab results in about a week. As for the other, well, he will have increased fiber in his diet among other things. This might be enough to scare him into losing weight and eating better. We had a bit of a problem with the sedative. He scared them. As soon as he was injected he went out. He was out cold. His oxygen level dropped and everything. I forgot to tell them that he is a lightweight as far as drugs are concerned. We had a difficult time waking him. He is sleeping now but he is okay. He has light snoring so I know he is breathing fine.
