yuck

My cold is no better but it is no worse either. A box a day is not bad I guess. At least it is running! My poor nose hates it but my sinuses are glad it is moving along downwards. I hate sneezing. Sneezing is not something to sneeze about. It spreads germs, and it makes old ladies have to change clothes.

Baby is okay. She is not drinking enough volume but she is getting enough milk since I am making it richer. I am getting her to at least smell my hand with the grain in it. Soon she will eat some of it. I really do not want to wrestle her. I have to get her gentle enough to handle since she will be freezer meat. She will need to eat good food for the next year.

How do you know when it is best to put your cat to sleep? I worry sometimes that I am keeping Sebastan alive because I am afraid to let him go. I love him so much. I am afraid to handle him sometimes because he feels so frail. LOL but when I see him slapping Scampi across the kitchen floor I am reminded of the cat that killed a rat that weighed about 3 pounds that had come inside.

  3. I hope you get to feeling your old self again soon, Celeste.  Glad Baby is getting the nourishment and I hope she takes the grain soon.  As for Sebastian, that is hard for anyone but you and the family to make that decision.  I agree with Carlene, though, when the time is right, you will know.

Our kitty Emmie is about 18 months old now.  She is having trouble today jumping up on the couch and bed.  She is favoring one paw a bit, but does not cry when whe tries to jump and does not seem to have any spots she does not want us to touch.  I have to work tomorrow, but Sister is taking her into the vet in the morning to see what it going on with her.

  8. You're a caring a pet-owner....and you'll know when it's time to let Sebastian go.  It'll be crazy and sad and awful, but you'll do it because it's the right thing to do for a loved companion.

  9. I suspect you will know when the kitty's quality of life isn't worth the pain.  You'll just know.
    Have a good week.

  13. Hope you are feeling better!  I had to have my beloved 18 year old cat, Fritz, put to sleep just about three years ago.  He very clearly let me know when he was ready to go.  I am sure your Sebastian will do the same.

  14. I put my Pagan to sleep in her early twenties when she lost control of her bladder. Otherwise as long as she was eating and seemed not to be in pain I enjoyed her. She got so hard of hearing she meowed REALLY loud. It was cute.

  15. Luckily for me, L.E.S.C.O. just wandered off into the woods.
This way, I can always think of her out hunting.
