planting

Today was a real good day. I got a tree planted. I bought a couple of 4-5 feet tall pecan trees. I have been wanting some for a real long time. I figure that I can use my own pecans for making things and down the road maybe even make some money selling some fresh pecans. I have one more pecan tree to plant. I need to find a place for it. LOL 15 acres and I need to find a place. LOL. I also have some more planting to do this week. It will be a busy week for me. It is time to get things ready for spring planting. I know some of yall are still in deep winter but here it is time to get those early plants out! I have some plants ready to go as soon as my ground is ready. I am going to plant extra tomatoes this year. I am hoping to can a lot of salsa. Salsa is a good diet food! Very low in calories and high in anti oxidants!
So I am out of here now. I need to eat and read journals. See yall later!

  2. Ahhh, Spring. I know it's coming, even as it snows. ooking forward to it, though I won't be planting any trees- my lot os too small, and all the leaves from 3 neighbors' yards land in mine each fall! Margo

  3. And salsa taste soooo good. We had pecan trees in San Antonio. One was planted buy a squirrel. I sold pecans and the natives brough more then the paper shells. They say they have a better flavor even though they are small. I love all pecans. Do you call them pee-cans or pa-cons? lol Paula

  10. Sounds like a great day!  I can't wait for Spring to get here.  Actually I need to set out some bulbs right now.  If it will only hold off raining long enough for me to get it done!

  11. 15 acres is a lot of room, but you also share it with others! lol

I hope your tree flourishes :)

  12. We had three pecan trees at my house, and we have three pecan trees up here in Caneyhead.  Good years.  Bad years.  Almost always get enough for our use.  Some years have plenty to share.  -  Barbara
