Scampi and stuff

Scampi is fitting right in. He is a pretty good dog. Has barked a few times but mostly it is a whine. He has decided that the rocker that sits next to the computer is his. Now this has upset Susie because she thought it was hers! The cats are starting to realize that they are as big as he is so there is nothing to fear. Buddy will pop anybody so that takes care of that. Scampi is afraid to go by him sometimes. Buddy stalks him. Buddy will get in between Scampi and us and just watch him like he is saying " I dare you."  Sebastian ignores him completely and Susie hisses and hoits him. Big Daddy walks up to him and rubs on him and all of the younger ones puff up and hiss. Little bit pretnds like he is not there and Blackie runs and hides. We got him a few toys. He plays hard when he plays. Tennis balls are a nono. He rips the cover off of them! His favorite is a sock tied in a knot.

Yesterday morning I did a really dumb thing. Belle was out and I was looking for her, I spotted her in the next field over and I turned and headed at a run for the barn to get a feed bucket. Next thing I know I am flat on my back, out of breath wondering if I was going to live. I had left a wire up on the electric fence and I ran right into. I did not remember that I had only unhooked 1 wire. The top wire is at my throat level. Today I have bruices across my throat that looks like somebody tried to kill me. My shoulders are bruiced also but I am not sure why. Maybe from the way I hit the ground. The bruices are on the top of my shoulders. My back is sore today also. I am walking like an old woman today.

Last night Pat and I went to the store and I put a patio set in the layaway. I am looking forward to getting it and setting it up. I have been wanting one for a long time.

The sun is shining today and the wind is blowing. Feels like March might be coming in like a lion! So I am gonna get outside and see if I can do something in the yard to clean up the winter mess.

  1. Poor you Celeste, that must have be so painful for you.  I didn`t realise that electric fences have such a strong charge.  I`m glad that Scampi is settling in though I expect the cats will come out on top in the end...lol! :o)

  11. Ouch! The only reason I know that I would never do that is that I am soooo careful with the electric wire. I can't stand to get shocked, so I have it off most of the time, luckily everyone only needs a reminder occasionally. However, I could see myself running into something else and 'clotheslining' myself!

Glad to hear the new pup is working out. He looks like a little doll. I'm glad he was lucky enough to find you all.

  16. Oh so you have a Susie too. Mine is a mess. She is sooo mad at me lately because of the windy and damp weather. Your accident sounds like it hurt a lot. Hope there is no permanent damage. Paula

  17. awww, what a cutie pie.  We love the miniature Greyhounds, since we have the regular sized ones....there are lots of cute clothes you can buy for the wee fellow. They get so cold outside since they don't have much hair!

I am so sorry about your little accident with the wire.  That could have ended a lot worse than it did and I am glad you are recovering okay.  Sorry for the aches, but they will go away soon, hopefully.  Scampi sounds like a great addition to the family and will be a great pet, I'm sure.  Take care and remember those wires, LOL!

  22. I was wanting to try and get a patio set this spring as well.  We'll see I say that every year.  Maybe I should put one on lay away as well.  I have been praying for you and Brook, I didn't know if she had moved or if I have missed anything.  Take care and have a great day tomorrow.  TerryAnn.
