It has hit the fan

Well I believe Pat has taken all the abuse he can from his mother. He cannot break her cycle of co-dependency. He has said that he is going to just give her all her meds and money and cut her loose. If she wants J then that is who she can have. He will not bail her out again. J and his mom have cost him 1000's of dollars over the last 2-3 years in lost hours from work, leisure time, and  actual cash money. He said that she has gone from calling me a sweet person to the witch from hell ( not her words, I cleaned them up) He said I know that you have been good to her ( that felt good hearing him defend me... he has not at times in the past when it came to his family) He is going to cut off all ties with her. He will have peace with that at first, then the guilt will set in.

  1. Well, at least he sees what's happening.  But you're right, it isn't going to be easy on him.

  4. He will have peace with that at first, then the guilt will set in.Not necessarily. Jesus said if you walk into a house and give that house your blessing and that blessing does not return to you, shake the dust off your feet and return to that house no more. You guys have your own family and that is god;s plan It is paramount that you cleave to one another and know that his mom and her daughter are God;s children and pray that God will bless them and fulfill their needs. It is amazing how when a well dries up people will find a way to get water elsewhere,CMP

  5. I'll be praying for you both.  Yes, it's a hard decision to walk away, but abuse is abuse and no one should have to take it.  Just remind him that he can love her without getting involved in all of her problems.  Blessings, Penny

This has run it's course and it's time for you all to start a new chapter.  I'm glad Pat stood up for you and I wish Hazel well, but you need to take care of your own family now and let them find their own way.  Later, when Pat starts feeling guilt, you can decide whether you need to step back in with Hazel.  Right now y'all need a little peace.

  11. It is so great that he is standing by you. I am still crushed from when my husband did not defend me from his family on vacation last year. He says to me they were wrong, but to them, he said nothing.  My marriage has not been the same since.

  13. It's the hardest thing to shun someone who you love for whatever reason but know that you need to leave behind.
