It has been a long day.

It has been a long day. For some reason I cannot get in a holiday mood. I feel like I am only doing this cooking for me. I don't think my family cares one way or another if I cook a holiday meal. Sometimes it feels like they do not care one way or another if I am even here.

  1. Celeste, I'm saying a prayer for you that somehow, someone will show you tomorrow just how important you are to them.

  3. I remember my mother cooking family meals year after year after year.  She wasn't thanked; I know many years she must have felt alone in her efforts.  However now as I age, as it becomes my responsibility to do what I can to keep my ever-changing family together,  I think back on what my mother did with appreciation.  What she did during the holidays to help hold the family together still lives in me.  It is like she is still teaching me.  Your family will remember, too.
