a lot going on

There is a lot going on around here. I have a friend K that is a good person. Because she is a good person sometimes bad people are attracted to her.

There is a man (we will call him F) that she told that she only wanted friendship with because she had just gotten out of a bad marriage and an even worse divorce. F decided that K was the one for him and started to try to place controls on her. Things like telling her who she should see and talk too. I was one of the friends he decided he did not like. Now this happened in a matter of days(the control thing). She told him that he could not tell her these things and he needed to leave. He started in on how he loved her and everything would be okay. She again told him no and to leave. Less than 48 hours later she goes outside to find 2 of her tires slashed. This upset and angered her. We knew we did it but nothing could be done. No witnesses, blah blah blah. It took a couple of days to get those tires replaced. Less than 2 days again, all 4 tires were slashed and her car was keyed real bad. Not only that her friend's(female) car had its tires slashed also! To make matters worse after she arrived back home she found her floor was slooshy with water. The water line to her new(used) fridge was cut and water was pouring everywhere. Her floor was ruined. the wood is made from cheap wood so it has a huge hump in it. Actually there are several humps. That's okay she can live without an ice maker. The next morning her fridge quit being cool at all. Upon examination it was discovered that the Freon lines were cut also. So far damages to her property total over $5000. It has been discovered that her leather jacket is missing too. A few days after that she and I go to court and she gets an order of protection against him. After arriving home from court we find that her window has been shot out.

The police are doing nothing but taking reports.

Now it has gone way beyond petty. Last night her house was set on fire. Only by Grace is she alive right now. Her smoke detector did not go off even though we had tested it less than a month before hand. At 2 am this morning she awoke and smelled smoke. The only reason she does not have more damage than she does is because the fire melted the water pipes and the water of her own house doused the fire. Charges against unknown party: arson and attempted murder, suspect is F.

K is now in the hospital. I took her there this morning with chest pains. She has had a heart attack in the past and has several other health problems. Luckily as of right now she did not have another heart attack. She is suffering from smoke inhalation.

This is an evil man. What is so wrong is he is getting away with it. We have found out that another woman had called the police 12 times against this same man with no help at all.

  1. OMG Celeste....Does your city have any kind of association for battered women????If so, although he has not harmed her physically, she can get them to help her legally because of emotional abuse. Why are the police drgging their butts about this???? Please be careful, Celeste, sounds like this fool knows no limits.

  2. Does the hoospital she in have a Social Worker? All of this has to be doumented and the Drs and nurses are quite possibly not doing all of it. The police are setting up a paper trail, but your friend must see that one on her behalf is done as well. A shelter for domestic violence should be able to help with a restraining order based on "effects of mental harrassment". Bless you for being her friend. Both take care!

  4. This is so incredibly sad.  All it takes sometimes is a little conversation with the wrong person and BLAM your life is turned upside down.  Not much of a way to tell before hand who is who, either.  God bless and keep her safe!  Thank God He was with her last night!!  I'd definately change all my locks.  Put motion sensitive light all around the place.  Keep my rooms dark and my shotgun loaded.  -  Barbara

  5. BE CAREFUL YOURSELF THIS GUY IS CRAZY, SETTING SOMEONES HOUSE ON FIRE NEEDS TO GET THE POLICE IN MOTION.  THIS WOMAN COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AND THIS GUY IS STILL WALKING AROUND.  IF I WERE HER I WOULD STAY OUT OF THAT HOUSE FOR AWHILE.  THEY NEED TO CATCH THIS GUY IN ACTION, MAYBE SETTING UP A VIDEO CAMERA WOULD GET THIS JERK CAUGHT BEFORE HE REALLY HURTS SOMEONE.  SOUNDS LIKE HE HAS A KEY TO THE HOUSE AND IF HE DOES SHE NEEDS TO CHANGE EVERY LOCK AND ENSURE EVERY WINDOW AND DOOR IS LOCKED AND MAYBE JUST GET A DOG FOR PROTECTION.  MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH BOTH OF YOU TO STOP THIS AND ENSURE EVERYONE STAYS SAFE.

  6. Please exercise tremendous care, and keep reporting this to the police as often as it takes.  I rarely recommend this, but your friend getting a gun and learning how to use it may be a good thing.

  7. What a horible story, Celeste.  Dating and meeting new men ha such risks, but I suppose men feel the same way about meeting new women.  I hope your friend gets some help.  I will be praying for her.  Take care of yourself too.  Pennie

  11. It is shocking how these people get away with such blatant threaening behaviour. Does someone have to die before anything is done? My support and love to you and your friend,
    Kate.
