Hot and getting hotter

It is already hot outside. I got out there to work in the garden and it was 73 degrees. I worked for an hour and half weeding a corn row and side dressing it with fertilizer. After that I watered a row of Crowder peas with liquid fertilizer and got soaking wet. My container burst at the bottom and sprayed me with fertilizer! I sure hope I don't grow any! I am big enough! The temperature is now 85 with a heat index of 90 so I am back inside for now. I will get out a bit later and do some mowing I hope.

They put Pat back on first shift at least for the next 2 weeks. It was real stupid how they did it. He works second shift. Second does not get off until midnight or later. They told him earlier in the week to come in an hour earlier because one of the first shift guys is leaving an hour early to go to chemotherapy. So at midnight Tuesday,he gets told to report for first shift on Wednesday. It takes him an hour to get home from work and an hour to get there, 35 minutes on a good day and speeding. First shift reports at 6am. Now how did they think he was going to make it on no sleep? So Pat stayed there all night and slept on the couch in the lunch room. We think our 3 day weekend is screwed now. He thinks they will ask him to work Saturday saying that he is working Red's schedule. He is going to say nope he is working John's and John is off this Saturday. Hope that goes over. LOL

So anyway I guess I better get busy in the house cleaning. I have a load to go in the dryer and another for the washer. Sometimes I wish I was in a nudist colony so we would have much fewer clothes to wash!

  2. Celeste 73 degrees would be just perfect ~ don't think I could take it any hotter ~ I don't need worry though because we very really get it hot at anytime lol ~ Poor Pat having to sleep on the couch ~ hope he don't have to go in on Saturday ~ as that will spoil your weekend ~ hope you manage to get back into the garden later when it has cooled down ~ Ally

  3. Too bad about the work shift. They should pay him extra.
Don't work yourself too hard. Looks as if you're really busy.
