toothless advice

My advice to anyone that is going to have all their teeth removed.
  1. First of all make sure you have a blender.
  2. Next, stock up on frozen fruit. You will need them for smoothies.
  3. Another good thing is to get powdered Slimfast to mix in those smoothies.
  4. Get potatoes and learn to like potato soup, smooth at first then you can add lumps after the gums heal.
  5. Stock up on creamed soups, No teeth no chewing! LOL
  6. have gauze on hand
  7. a toothbrush for your tongue and gums(don't use it on gums until they heal!)
  8. make sure you have multi vitamins as you will be not taking in enough of the necessary stuff
  9. AND PAINS PILLS ARE TO BE TAKEN!!!!!!
  10. and think of the smile you will have after you get your new choppers!

  1. I'll be needing this advice. Fortunately, our breakfast is almost always cream of wheat or oatmeal. I love graham crackers and milk, bread-and-milk, etc. We eat lots of beans, which I'm sure I can "gum".

    And I always take a multi-vitamin anyhow.

Actually, I have lots of practice. The spots where I am missing teeth at present are so arranged that I only have one place where top and bottom meet. So I've been chewing with two teeth for a long time. Shouldn't be too difficult to graduate to no teeth at all.

I do not intend to be out in public much while I'm healing.

  2. Remember Danny had to have all his teeth pulled...While waiting for his heart to heal after his open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve...his gums healed and before long he was eating almost anything I ate! The only things he had trouble with was corn on the cob and apples! Bless his heart...
I know this has to be so frustrating but I just know you are goingt o be so proud of your new look!
    love,
