the bike

Pat and i tried to take a ride today. We took the battery off and had it tested. It was no good. We thought great! New battery and we ride. That was a no go. We head down the road and the battery started down. The generator is not charging it. Craps. At least we got about 20 minutes on the bike. It really was not my day. As we were coming home, up our own driveway, Pat drops the bike and I go flying off. he hit a soft spot and the front wheel dug in and went sideways and wham! I hit the ground about 8 feet away from the bike. My hip is a bit sore as is my back. No real damage because it was soft ground. I am glad that I did not land in the puddle. I was thrown completely over it.

That's  my excitement for the weekend. No snow storm, nothing else but total boredom. I even remembered to turn the clock up and change the batteries.

  1. Good Grief, Celeste.  At our age those little spills can take their toll.  I'm glad it was soft ground.  No one who rides bikes for a long time can say they have never gone down.  I just hope you didn't do any damage that you don't know about.  Rotten luck with the battery.  Actually I should say the alternator.  I know he had it rebuilt once, but you said they don't make that alternator anymore.  The only option left is to have it rebuilt again and hope for the best.  I'd have another company rebuild it this time.  There is a pretty good altenator shop here in Savannah if that is any help.

  7. ... of course I am glad you weren't hurt ... but I never liked riding on the back of a motorcycle ... of course, the driver was my buddy, AKA and she liked the feeling of having a big guy on her back ..!

... I used to indulge her until she sent me flying into the air in Rouge Park ... haven't even THOUGHT of getting on a motorcycle since ..!

... be well ... careful with that back ..!
