I have discovered the most awesome thing!!! I have found out how to block the ads! I now do not see them on anybody's journal! It was so simple that I do not know how come I never saw it before. Anybody that is AOL can block them. NON AOL people might have to do something else.
If you are AOL look at the bottom of this page and find a box that says
Click that box and if it looks like this 
you will not see any ads on AOL pages.

OMG it works! And the reason people are still seeing csandhollow banner, it's BECAUSE SHE doesn't see them any more-YOU DO-cause you haven't fixed your pop up settings yet. Do it-it works. Diane~

You have to be on 9.0 2nd edition to be able to do that and I am on on the plain 9.0. I like it the best but I may update so I can do that. I had someone tell me about how to do it today. You better bet that if it had the 9.0 2nd edition I would do it. Helen
ReplyDeleteYou know, Celeste, this really doesn't solve the problem that most bugs a lot of people: AOL is profiting from our journals by putting ads there. And even though we can fix it so we don't see them, most people will still see them.
ReplyDeletePersonally, it's not that big a deal to me anyway, although it's nice to have them gone, thanks to you. I just hate to see so many leaving. It destroys the unity we've had.
Well...at least I don't have to look at them on the pages of people who are staying with AOL.

I can't see anybody's banners. I am the invisible woman, however I know others see them so that ticked me off enough to create an international /UK journal where aol wouldn't dare pull this crap on the Brits.

ReplyDeleteok me again...it doesn't work on all of them and it doesn't always work right away...but go to "blocking pop-ups" at the bottom....then "set pop up control preferences"...then click on the animated media tab...then click block animated media from these sites then type in www.aol.com....that should help.
