I believe we have found out what is wrong with Precious(my horse). We found a borad with several one penny nails in it near the barn. Apparently one of the horses kicked it off the door. It was laying just inside a stall where you could not see it. Both back legs are hurt on her. She can barely walk. She does not have a fever and is eating. She prefers to stay outside. I put her in the barn but she busted out. Silly horse. It misted all night long. I just take her hay to her wherever she is. I only had 1 pain pill to give her. I called the vet but he is out of his office today. I suppose since she has gone for a couple days that a couple more wont hurt. She recieved a tetanus shot last year when she was hurt so she is covered in that area. She may need to get a booster though. I need to get another supply of pain meds. I will check with the vet about getting some. If he will not give me a supply to keep on hand I will go online and order some. My first aid kit needs it.
The birds are doing fine. Still only 2 babies. They are getting fat! It is about time for them to start opening their eyes. I will start handling them after that I want them to bond with their parents but I still want them to be used to human contact. It will make it easier to sell them.
Time for me to go to the Co-op. That is the place where you buy feed for the animals for those that do not know.
Maybe another vet can give youa few to get by the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope seh gets better soon.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your horse hon'! Poor thing... We didn't get any babies this year...my cats are prolific hunters and have nearly emptied the yard of every other living thing...almost makes me wish we had mice! ;) C. http://journals.aol.com/gdireneoe/thedailies

We call it the feed store and we make lots of trips there. We even go to other towns when we can get something less expensive when we are buying in bulk. No horses anymore, just lots of cattle. My daughter and granddaughter have the horses. Paula
ReplyDeleteI hope the horse gets to feel ing better.

Hello friend. If I have already done this or you know, I'm sorry. I am trying to keep up with all I am begging from. I have created a new journal. It is for the disabled or for anyone who is going through a hard time physically. It has journals of disabled people as well as helpful websites. Please drop by and read the first entry. It explains everything. If you know anyone disabled and has a journal or anyone who would benefit from this or a website that could help, please let me know. Together we can help. Thanks, Tammy.
