I have to tell you about this giveaway I found. I like entering contests and giveaways. I love samples and anything free. I love Playtex gloves. I am in need of new ones now!

Ugh. I have so much to do and I don't want to do it. I have reached the conclusion that I need a maid. Actually I have reached several conclusions, hmm sounds like a good Thursday Thirteen list.On Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 8:30 pm, I am taking part in Earth Hour - a global event in which millions of people will turn out their lights to make a statement of concern about our planet and climate change.
I want to invite you to join, too! Sponsored by World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour got started just two years ago and is now the largest event of its kind in the world. Last year, more than 50 million participated and the lights went out at the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and the Coliseum in Rome, just to name a few. Even Google’s homepage went black for the day!
In Israel, President Shimon Peres personally turned off lights in Tel Aviv.
This year, Earth Hour will be even bigger - already 250 cities in 74 countries have agreed to take part including Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami and Nashville with more signing up every day. Around the world, cities like Moscow, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Shanghai and Mexico City will turn out their lights.
But Earth Hour isn’t just for big cities-anyone can participate. To get a better sense of the event, check out this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjWD8pbK5t8.
Participating in Earth Hour is easy, fun and free. I hope you will join me for this amazing event.
To sign up, visit http://www.EarthHourUS.org where you’ll learn more including ways you can spread the word about Earth Hour, plus creative things to do when the lights go out in case you need inspiration!
We want the US to turn out more lights than any other country in the world during this historic event so please pass this note along to anyone you think might want to take part.
Let’s all turn out and take action on March 28 at 8:30 pm.
Having a bit of trouble typing this as I have a lump on my shoulder. Buddy decided he wanted to watch what I was doing and climbed on the back of the chair and watched me type.

I have baby chicks in my living room again. That gives me about 2-4 weeks to get a home ready for them. I have Rhode Island Reds, which lay a nice large brown egg. I also have Americana, also known as The Easter Egg chicken. They are supposed to lay blue eggs. I believe I have the Silver kind.
My peach trees bloomed again this year. maybe we will actually get peaches! I have a pear tree to plant. It is about a 2-3 year old tree. At 5 years old they start putting out fruit. I suppose this means I will have to start liking pears. LOL.

Was this something we were supposed to learn from our Mom's?????
I can't believe it's been there all this time.
I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself.
Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box?
You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box.
Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over.
The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.
Well, I would like to share this with you.
Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it, and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end.
Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place.
How long has this little locking tab been there?
I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too.
I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too!
I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out, when I was trying to cover something up.
I'm sharing this with my friends.
I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.
I know you're going to go and check your boxes, so go ahead!
* I cannot take credit for this. I received it in an email and had to share it with y'all.
