Yesterday Pat and I went on a motorcycle ride. It felt really good to get out and feel the wind on my face again. I enjoy it. It is different than going for a ride in a truck or car. When you are inside a vehicle you tend to talk more or listen to the radio more or yak on the cell phone. On the back of a bike you look around more. The start of our trip I saw 2 ladies sitting on their porch, one with a bandanna tied around her head the other holding a pink umbrella. They were out enjoying the wonderful weather. Lawnmowers were already going as people, ready for the long winter to be over, prepared their yards for spring. Tillers were out and turning the ground. Spring is on the way! As we rode higher onto the mountain, I could feel my body reacting to all the air and freedom. I felt more relaxed than I have in a while, no tightness in my chest, no dark moods reaching out and grabbing my mind and body. I looked out over the edge of the mountain and saw signs of renewal. Areas of green where new grass was growing, puffs of smoke where people were do the last of their burning before the spring ban on burning starts, tractors were out getting fields ready for planting.

We went to Cloudland Canyon. I love going there and seeing the 2 waterfalls. Water was cascading down the mountain side, tumbling over the rocks, glittering in the sunlight looking like liquid diamonds, filling the canyon with a roar. Standing there, watching and listening, I am once again reminded that I am just a small part of this world.
I am ready. Renew me.
