A new beginning
Today was a historical day in American history. Today a black man was elected President of the United States. My hope is that today is a new beginning for us, a good beginning. I hope that all Americans can pull together and be the nation that we were made to be, strong and UNITED. It is time to shut up and get busy.
My hope is the same - we will see what happens and if this nation pulls together - it is up to Obama to lead by example -

Well said!
ReplyDeleteditto, all those preaching and promises...it's time to put it into action.
ReplyDeleteI watched his speech after he won, a great speech I must say, his words are very convincing, and agree with you--it's time for him to get busy. Words are very easy to say. In less than a year, his hair would be gray.
He may have perks as a President but it is not free. It'll cost him his hair.
:-D
I agree with you... but I am still a little sad that in this day and age the color of your skin (or your religion, or your sex, or...) is even an issue. I, personally, didn't consider the color of either candidates skin, but what I thought they could (or would) do for our country. The vote to me was not Black/white, but rather red/white/blue.
ReplyDeleteSaw you made a entry, and just wanted to say hello to you. I am going to go sit down, as yesterday took a lot out of me, physically and emotionally.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well.
Hi Celeste, I really hope your new President does a great job, it certainly looks though he will.

Hi Celeste,
ReplyDeleteglad to see a post here! I am so glad that the election is over...now we need to get this country back on it's feet.
I feel for President Obama...he will have his hands full. I believe he is a good man and will do his best to turn us around.
take care.

carlene
I'll respect the office, pray for the man and hope he manages to earn my respect.
ReplyDelete(((C))) Howdies fellow "C"...long time no...C...sorry, couldn't resist. I was just at my new home here, trying to settle in a bit more, and saw that you'd followed me! THANK YOU SO MUCH, Celeste. I'd figured on no follows, because of my pathetic participation this last year. So good to see you. ;) C.
ReplyDeleteNo matter who you voted for we need to suport and pray for who we got.
