Trouble

Brook got into a bit of trouble this weekend and I was the one that got her in trouble. Well not really. SHE was the one that got into trouble. Saturday she had a guest over and they got on the computer. This girl helped Brook create a MySpace page with a fake name and age. How did it she get caught? Well I just happen to look into her deleted mail looking for a mail with a user name so I could register as a parent on one of the sites and control what she can do. And what do I find? All this mail from myspace! First thing I did was sign into MySpace and do a search and sure enough, there she was. Next thing I did call her mama and ask if she had given permission. I heard tears right away. She gave her password and I signed into her account and deleted it right away. Her mama had a long talk with her. I had one today. Pat told her that bad men go there and she should not go there. ( I had to laugh at Pat. He does not know how to get to My Space. One of his Pogo girlfriends sent him the link to her page and he was afraid to go there! LOL)
Anyway that is resolved. Her computer privileges are severely restricted again.

Pat and I had a wonderful day yesterday. We went to the kids and ate chicken and then  went on a ride to Sonics for a 99 cent milk shake. We then went riding for about 2 hours.  We passed a creek named Dry Creek and it was dry! LOL What a great day.

Been fiddle farting around today not doing much of anything. I guess I really need to get busy. See y'all later.

  1. Poor Brooke.  Technology today can be so dangerous.  I remember when I was about 15 I wrote my name and number in a phone booth.   My Daddy saw it and really gave it to me. And even after all the screaming at me I still did not understand what was so bad.  I never even thought about who could read it or what they thought I was. Geez, I thought everybody was NICE. 4. OOOPS!  My girls have gotten into trouble online, too.  When the grounding ends, they are very good and very cautious...for a while.  Kids just have to try us, don't they?

  5. Celeste sorry Brook got into trouble ~ I think her guest probably encouraged her to set up "My Space" glad you found it and cancelled it ~ I don't think the children realise the dangers out there ~
Glad you and Pat had a wonderful day out yesterday ~ Ally x

  6. I'm glad you caught that in the nick of time before anything bad happened. Kids just don't understand how dangerous the internet can be for them.
Glad you guys had a good day. A motorcycle ride sounds like Heaven for me.

  8. Hi, I'm stopping by via Magic Smoke--your caption for the contest (with the watermelon seeds) made me laugh! I had to look up the person who left it.

Sounds like you have a very enjoyable life in Georgia. My parents used to have a house in the northeast corner, up in the mountains, and I spent my summers during college there. I loved it--one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

    Take care,
    Beth
