We are home

We just arrived home less than an hour ago. Thank you everyone for all your prayers.
Pat had a severe asthma attack that was causing less oxygen to get to his heart causing angina pains. At one point it was thought that he may have a blood clot or a possible pulmonary embolism. It was determined that he did not have a heart attack. This morning they did an arteriogram. He has some blockage but not enough. It was determined that he is in the early stages of cardiovascular disease. This will be treated by drugs and diet. His blood pressure is also borderline. So now he is to be on a low sodium, low fat, low cholesterol diet plus high fiber.  Sounds a bit yucky.

I am happy happy happy. My  love is home and I am going to keep him.

  1. Yippee.....I am kicking my heels up around the kitchen.  I thought about you and hubby a few times today.  Such a small world isn't it, that we can care about someone so far away.                               Marlene

  7. Good luck getting a man to eat low-salt, low-fat.  Even with my best efforts, Cliff doesn't always follow the rules.

I know the feeling of "I am happy happy happy. My  love is home and I am going to keep him."

  8. I'm so glad it is not his heart or a blood clot, and so glad he is home now.  It's good that they were able to do the tests and caught the blood pressure and the cardio problems now, though.  I hope that you can adapt to a low salt, low cal diet.  Take care, both of you!

That is wonderful news. Thank God that they found out what was wrong and that Pat will get the treatment that is needed.

  15. The American Heart Association has plenty of cookbooks that are heart healthy and lots of good food.   Also, if you look  at cook books for diabetics they are also plenty healthy.   Check out a few from your local library and see which ones you like.   You can do a lot with spices other than salt.   I have been watching my husband food intake for years.
