2011 U.T.A. Georgia Martial Arts Festival

Today Brook competed in the 2011 U.T.A. Georgia Martial Arts Festival. I could not be more proud of her. She started out
in the board breaking competition choosing 4 kicks, jumping front kick using 2 boards, spinner kick, turning round house kick, and backside kick using 3 boards. Needless to say she blew away the competition taking first place for 13 year old black belt females.
Next can the Team Demo competition. Her team was a new team having only practiced together 5 times. They held their own against teams that have preformed many times together in competition and events. The team took second place!
Next came a short break for lunch. Needless to say she was not very hungry. She was still pumped up from excitement.

After lunch came sparring. I am so proud of her. Master Lee called her a champion in spite of taking third place. She was cheated by a judge not paying attention. Some of the other competitors said the same thing, that Brook was the clear winner of her match. She took it like a champ. She fought hard. She has not let it discourage her. She plans on doing more.
It was a long day and we are tired! Bed for all of us!
