Food, love and boots, oh my!

Valentine's Day seemed to linger this year. It was beginning to feel like an all week affair. NOT that I am complaining! LOL. Valentine's Day I got my gifts, flowers, card and a box of chocolate. Not much else happened that day as it was not the best of weather and Pat was a bit on the sick side. The next day I received some more chocolate and some tea cups.Monday I got some more tea cups and a teddy bear. Tuesday I got some motorcycle boots . Pat got a matching pair on Wednesday. AND he got me another teddy bear in a cup. I just don't what to do with that man! LOL. All I have to say is, this has been the most loving Valentine's Day ever.

Pat is working new hours at work. He no longer has the weekends off. He is working 4 days a week, scheduled for 40 hours a week, 10 hour days. he did not get his 40 hours in this week. He works 7 am -5 pm on Sundays, then turns around and goes back in at 2:30 pm on Mondays. He is off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and then works Thursday and Friday and off on Saturday. Saturday is a bust for doing anything because he has to get up at 5:30 am on Sundays to go to work. The only good thing is he still has a job. It is going to be hard adjusting to the new hours.

I am adjusting to not having teeth. I have been able to add a few foods into my diet now. Lo mein noodles will be one thing I will be eating a lot of, along with my creamed soups. Beans are another things I can add now. This morning I had a biscuit with sausage gravy. I put the sausage in a chopper and chopped it up real fine. I also made the gravy a little bit thinner than I usually do so the biscuit could soak it up good and be soft. Tasted like heaven! LOL Smoothies of yogart and fruit will still be my biggest meals . I still have plenty of extra weight that needs to come off.

I am starting to get my energy back and need to get busy cleaning house again. See y'all later

Teeth and motorcycles, doctor and kids

Pat and I went on several rides this past weekend on the motorcycle. I know I looked a bit silly. I wore a mask on the rides on days when normally you would not see anyone wearing one. I found out real quick that the wind HURT! While we were out Pat turned into the Huddle House without thinking so we could get a bite to eat! LOL The look on his face when he realized what he did was priceless. He gets all apologetic and starts saying I'm sorry baby. I laughed and told him that I have been watching you eat all week now so what is one more meal. I did get a piece of cheesecake. It is one of those foods you really do not have to chew on. I can suck on a straw now so I am making my slim fast smoothies. I also bought some of those drinks that are supposed to help your immune system. At Walmart they have some with all Spanish labels on them for 88 cents for 5 verus $2.50 for 6 name brand kind. I also have started taking my multi-vitamins. As for calcium, I think I am getting plenty of that as I am drinking a quart or more of milk a day now.

Friday I took Brook to the doctor to get a shot, Gardasil, second in a series of 3. While I was there, I had them check her out as she has been coughing and wheezing a bit. She was wheezing them but her strep test came back negative and her ears were clear. She had been running a fever some at night, one night was over 102. They said just keep on with what I was doing. Well Today I had to take her back to the doctor. I knew I would have to when I took her there Friday!. This time they put her on Augmentin for 10 days as her ears and sinuses were infected. Poor thing could not hear at all out of one ear. They did a hearing test on her and she only heard 2 of the tones! She will get better now.

I have worthless cats! Fat, worthless cats. I have mice! I was so mad when I saw one in my house! S yestrday I bough mouse traps. I have caught 7 mice so far. I will have to fix a hole in the wall that was behind a dresser that was back to the shower opening in Brook's bedroom. I am so mad. I refused to feed any cats for the last 2 days except for Buddy. He can't catch mice seeing how he is crossed eyed.

Okay Heroes is on. See everyone later!

ouch ouch ouch

Well the teeth are gone. I did not realize how much pain I would be in. having my belly cut open hurt but this is something else.It is better now but no way can I go without pain pills. It is a bone weary hurt. Ever had a toothache? I have 23 of them right now. I know it will get better. It is getting better. I also know that I have some pretty teeth to smile with in a few months. That is the only thing that keeps me goping.

Brook has been sick this week, congested cough and a fever. She is better now also.

Pat went to the doc and he is going to keep him on predisone for another month. Thinks that if we can get past the winter season he will be better. I hope he is right.

Crystal is doing good. She was running and kicking up her heels the other day. Precious has finally lost some weight. Now I need to get a corral built to keep her in for part of the day after the spring grass starts coming up. Dancer has decided to allow himself to be rode without having a mre with him. That gained him some points with Pat.

Is winter almost over? I am so ready for spring.

rain, horses, jobs, what a combination

Brook has started her allergy shots and she is not liking it. She did admit that it did not hurt as much as she thought it would. I promised her a treat when she got them, unfortunately I am not taking her at this time.I now have 2 treats to get her. LOL She had her second shot today.

Crystal is doing much better. Her heel is healing up well. With any luck by the time spring gets here she will be rideable

The rain is back but not hard like it was last time. This time it would be able to soak in if the ground was not already saturated! With the amount of rain we have had, you would think that we would be out of a drought situation. Not so. We still need more water. The lakes are looking better, lakes do look better with water in them.LOL We will see.

Last night was the last night for Brook's weapons class. There is another one next month but I believe she will not be taking that one.

Candiac and Johnny are talking again about moving to Texas. I dread that when it happens. There are no jobs here for Candy. She will not be able to keep living here without work and because of her convicted felon status she is not able to get any help from the state. That is so wrong. She served her time, her probation period is over and she has stayed straight. One mistake and she is screwed for life.

I about had a heart attack. I checked to see what my electric bill is for this month and it is $200. That hurts!

Pat was informed at work that they may cut back to 32 hours a week. That will hurt.

Time is ticking down to my teeth coming out on Monday. That will hurt.

Tae Kwon Do and stuff

I looked back and realized that I have not been posting regularly enough. Too much information is being left out so this entry will be an attempt to catch everyone up with what has been happening.
Saturday Brook had outdoor training for black belts. It was a biter cold day. 3 hours of doing whatever in the cold. One thing they had to do that Master Lee did not have the younger ones do was get in the creek. I felt sorry for those that had to do that. I am not sure that I would have been able to do that unless I was going in after someone. One thing they did was cut bamboo with a samurai sword. The weapons class is going well. I was pleased with how many people are taking it. Sometimes there is not many taking the extra classes. It is nice to see Corey back in the classes again. The kids really like him. He is a good young man.
Oh yes. Brook started her allergy shots yesterday. She was not happy with it but it is something she needs. She will be glad she had them when she gets older.
10 more days and I become a toothless hag! LOL Well maybe not a hag but I will be toothless. Do not expect any photos of me smiling during the time that I have no teeth which will be about 3-4 months. My dentist wants me to wait that long for several reasons, diabetes, and the condition my gum and bone is in right now. He said I really need to heal before putting anything in my mouth. Hopefully I will lose weight! A liquid and mush diet should accomplish that.
Crystal is doing better, I think. The hussy broke out of the yard last night and went back into the field. Her foot was oozing yesterday so we put her back into the yard to keep a better eye on it. Now she is back in the field and I have to find the broken fence and fix it AND catch her to put her back in the yard at least for the day.
Okay. Time to fix breakfast and get busy. Talk to y'all later.

baking, baking and baking

From Christmas
I have been doing a lot of baking the last 2 days. So far I have baked 10 loaves of banana bread, 12 loaves of brown bread, and 3 batches of fudge. Well technically fudge is not baking, it is cooking. I am in the process of baking 5 more loaves of banana bread as I sit here. I was going to make zucchini bread but I do not think I have enough butter left or energy for that matter! Finally it not only looks a little bit like Christmas , it smells a LOT like Christmas.

A little bit of news. I met Pat's daughter the other day after 16 years! A little over 16 years ago she disappeared from his life, not by his choice. We did not know what happened. There was over 2 years of child support payments no picked up and the court petitioned to end support payments. Anyway... she has 2 babies, a girl and a boy. We got to meet the little boy, Shane. He is 1 year old and looks just like Pat does in his 1 year old picture! He took right up with Pat immediately! The little girl is 3 in a couple of months. We did not get to see her as she was with her father. I don't know how often we will see them but I am glad we did. I hope that we get to see them more. She is a little bitter. She was told that he did not want her. He did not even know about her until she was 5 years old and then only got to see her about 5 times. Just long enough for the court case to get child support started.

It will just be me and Pat for Christmas dinner. We were going to go out and eat but nothing will be open except Waffle House. I will bake a ham and a few of the fixings. maybe next year things will be better and the families will get together for the holidays again. I hope so.

Pat goes on Jan 2nd for a consult on pulling his teeth. He had an implant break and now there is a screw sticking up in his mouth. he also broke a tooth and the rest are not in good shape on the bottom. He already has uppers. Not sure when it will be done but I hope soon. I am hoping that my approval letter from insurance comes through so I can get mine done too. LOL Then we will both be on a soft food diet for several months until we get our choppers. LOL Should lose some weight then also!

Ok I am tired. Gonna read a few blogs and lay down. I have been over doing it the last 2 days.
