My lessons have started. Well my lessons at home have started. I am familiarizing myself with my bike. Well I am when I can get Pat off of it!
I managed to ride it a bit up and down the driveway. Not the whole driveway just the part up by the house. Good thing is I got my feet up off the ground and in position where they need to be. The real good thing is I did not drop the bike or run over anything or hit anything! LOL. Yes I was afraid I would do all of that!
I got my confirmation for school. I start on the 14th. I am looking forward to it. I already have my study manual. I got to download it from the website. I am so excited about this.
Ok that is it. Saturday I will be at the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta if anybody wants to find me.

Ok OK I will tell you. I am going back to school. I will be taking 1 class. It is a very special class. I will be learning a new skill. I am so excited. I have been waiting a long time for this class. It starts next month. It is only 3 days of schooling but it is an intense immersion class.
OK Saturday Brook will be in Marietta for a competition. She is excited and scared. I cannot wait to see her. It is such a wonderful opportunity to display the skills she has learned. It is also a way for her to see what skills she needs to work on.
Well I guess I need to tell you what the class is about. I will be taking a motorcycle class for beginning riders. Yep I am going to learn to ride a motorcycle. It is something I have been wanting to do for a while now. I love riding behind Pat but for the longest time I have been feeling the urge to fly with my own wings. Soooooo My new adventure begins. I am the proud owner of a 2008 Honda Shadow Aero, 750cc Candy Red/White with lots of chrome. It has a windshield, saddle bags, crash bars, and sissy seat and a luggage rack. So there my secret is out.

In the meantime let's talk about something else. How bout them Braves? LOL Had to throw that in. Round here people actually say that! Well I don't simply because I do not follow baseball. My mama did. She could tell you about them Braves. LOL
Still looking for hay. Most people round baled the spring cutting because of the rain. Now because of the NO rain there has no been a second cutting. Hopefully with the slightly cooler temps hay will once again be growing for the cutting!
Easter is a beautiful horse but, yep there is a but in there. Easter has a kicking problem. She kicked Brook in the hip and Pat in the shoulder. Luckily neither was hurt bad. We believe she also nailed Precious as she had a swollen leg yesterday. We know she has been kicking Crystal. We are sending her out for training. If she does not come back with a more respectful attitude to us then we will be selling her. I have a feeling we will be selling her anyway. If anyone out there has a sure fire way of breaking her of that habit I would be happy to hear of it.
OK time for hot chocolate then bed. Good night all.

TO THE NAACP CENTENNIAL CONVENTION
We've got to say to our children, yes, if you're African American, the odds of growing up amid crime and gangs are higher. Yes, if you live in a poor neighborhood, you will face challenges that somebody in a wealthy suburb does not have to face. But that's not a reason to get bad grades -- that's not a reason to cut class -- -- that's not a reason to give up on your education and drop out of school. No one has written your destiny for you. Your destiny is in your hands -- you cannot forget that. That's what we have to teach all of our children. No excuses. No excuses.
You get that education, all those hardships will just make you stronger, better able to compete. Yes we can.
To parents -- to parents, we can't tell our kids to do well in school and then fail to support them when they get home. You can't just contract out parenting. For our kids to excel, we have to accept our responsibility to help them learn. That means putting away the Xbox ---- putting our kids to bed at a reasonable hour. It means attending those parent-teacher conferences and reading to our children and helping them with their homework.
And by the way, it means we need to be there for our neighbor's sons and daughters. We need to go back to the time, back to the day when we parents saw somebody, saw some kid fooling around and -- it wasn't your child, but they'll whup you anyway. Or at least they'll tell your parents -- the parents will. You know. That's the meaning of community. That's how we can reclaim the strength and the determination and the hopefulness that helped us come so far; helped us make a way out of no way.Our children have the responsibility to work hard, to set goals, and strive to achieve those goals. Parents, grandparents, caretakers have to responsibility to teach our children to shrive to do better. It is our job to teach our children how to work hard, how to set a goal and how to achieve them. Be all you can be. Parents want to give their children what they did not have growing up. That is fine. But, yes, there is a but, in doing so are you denying them what you did have? The drive to achieve, a goal to be reached.
Help our children.

Tonight I started a weight loss class. I needed to get my metabolism jump started. Let me tell you something...I feel my age today. No I don't. I feel much much older than my age. I am dog tired. It is not just the class. I am tired.
I know I have not been writing much. Just a lack of words coming to my fingers.

"Beware of him who hates the laugh of a child" -Henry Ward Beecher-
How can anyone ever not smile when they hear the sound of a child's laugh? Every time I hear Brook laugh I feel a smile come to my own face. This photo is a few years old but the look of pure pleasure on her face is priceless. And looky there, Pat could not help himself, he had to smile with her.
