Anytime there is a horse loose in the neighborhood I always get called. I had a horse that has the reputation of getting out. Not the horse's fault, I have poor fencing. It has been patched so much that it could pass for a patchwork quilt! LOL. Anyway, last night I get a call, your horse is out. Now I knew it was not mine. I was sitting outside when I got the call and I could see all 3 of our horses. People really do not pay attention to details. This person insisted that the horse looked just like our Crystal. . Crystal has a lot of white on her face, a chestnut mane and tail and crystal blue eyes. She also has 4 white stockings up to her knees and 4 white hooves. The horse that "looks" like Crystal has a narrow band of white on her face, brown eyes, no white anywhere else and a black mane and tail. But she looks just like her! I guess it is like at a crime scene. 4 people will give 4 different descriptions of the same person.
I started shampooing carpet again last night. I have part of the living room done. I can only do part at a time because I am moving furniture around and getting everywhere. I have to let one section dry so I can move stuff into it. I have not put the love seat back in here. I think I will put it in the bedroom. I plan on moving the saddle rack into the living room. right now it is in our bedroom. With warmer weather here and gas prices so high I think we will be riding more.
Speaking of riding. We did ride Sunday. It was a good ride. I want to ride more but I am unable to get my cinch tight enough. Precious is a round horse with very low whithers, almost none at all!. So if the saddle is not extra tight it will slide around fast on her. So I have been checking into a different type cinch. It is called a Smart Cinch, Neoprene Smart Cinches
- Nylon and 1/4" thick neoprene straight and roper cinches.
- The shock-absorbing neoprene is easy-to-clean, withstands the elements and moves with the horse.
- Webbing detaches from neoprene for easy cleaning.
- Nylon off billet holder.
- Stainless steel buckles (including patented Roll Snug© Cinch Buckle) and dees.
Ok I am done for now. <<<pats self on back for writing 2 days in a row!
See y'all later.

Yesterday we thought that since it was a beautiful day we would go to the park and ride. We got the horses out and brushed and curried them good. dancer and Precious still have a lot of their wonter coats on. Crystal, on the other hand, is already as shiny as a new penny. brook was excited because it would be her forst time going. We loaded Precious with no trouble. She is an old hand at it. Next we tried to load Dancer. That's right, we TRIED to. He came up on his back feet and started shaking his head no. We knew then taht there was no way we were going to go. Poor thing has had a real bad experience loading in the past, I'm sure. We will have to re-train him to load. I do not look forward to that. I think it will be me doing iot not Pat. I have much more patience than he does. I know it will not be a quick thing. It may take all spring at the very least to do it. I hope not. Brook is really looking forward to riding her horse in the park.
Saturday is the talent show. Brook is excited about it. I don't know if it is because it is a show or if it is because it is at a mall! LOL
I am at odds with my daughter. Two bull headed people should never have a lot to do with each other. I wonder if we will ever truly get past the past?
Last night , or rather, this morning, was crazy. I woke up at 3:30 after getting to bed at 1 am. Not a good thing to do. At least it wasn.t last night. Partial thoughts, sometimes just words started running through my head:DVT, diapers, the ABC's, the car is, nose hair, jag, Disney, credit cards, taxes, weeds, blond, corns, frogs. Some of these make no sense at all to me. I started doing my can't sleep countdown which usually works but words kept flying in there with them. This went on until 4:45 at least. That was the last time I saw the clock. the alarm went off at 6 am. I really do not feel as if I had any sleep. It can't possibly be because I haven't could it? I will go back to bed in a bit. My eyes are hurting and soon my head will be.
I watched a Hallmark movie last night on TV. Those movies always make me cry so much. It was about the family of a little boy that went deaf. the parents, one hearing, the other deaf were at odds with each other over getting their son a cochlear implant. Personally I would get one. Sound is so amazing. I watch our birds all the time. Sometimes I can hear a note or 2 from some of them. I will see their beska open and their throats moving and when that sound does reach my ears it brings a smile and at times tears. When I talk on the phone, people will comment on how loud the birds are and I am not hearing anything. LOL If I am talking on the phone with you, it is also best that you do not say anything that you don't want others to hear unless you know I am in praivate. My phone is as loud as it goes and I do know that other people that can hear good can hear you.
I have little tiny peaches on my tree. I do hope that the cold weather we had this week did not kill them. Maybe, just maybe I will get some peaches off of our very own trees. I have a bunch of old tires around here. I have been trying to come up with something to do with them that is pretty and productive. I have seen planters made out of them that do not look like tires. They were turned inside out and cut See here
k I am back to bed. My toothpicks holding my eyes open have broke.

Four years ago today I started my journal. It has been an up and down road all along. I have made friends here. Some I have met, some I will be meeting. You have been with me through rough times and good times. No matter what is happening I can count of y'all to brighten my life. I am blessed.
P.S. Today is Buddy's 4th birthday also!
is funny - type out the sentence you end up with in the comment section.

Brook likes this part of Tae Kwon Do! LOL Here, she and another black belt testee is working out. I just love how she so easily tosses him. I did not get it but the smile she has when she does it is priceless.
The garden is in the ground. At least the beginnings of my garden is in the ground. I got the Brussels sprouts and the broccoli in this morning. Yesterday I tilled and weeded it. I was hoping that the forecast would be right and we would get some rain. So far it looks as if it will miss us.
This sure was a hard winter. We need to replace the battery on the tractor and possibly the alternator on it also. The starter was replaced on the riding lawnmower and new blades were put on it. The motorcycle had the battery replaced and now must have the alternator/generator replaced(rebuilt).
The grass is coming up good and the horses are gaining weight fast. I need to get in touch with the breeder and get Crystal over there. Not sure if we want to attempt doing anything with Precious after last year. See here
Okay time to get ready. Brook has demo practice tonight. They are getting ready for the talent show at the mall. Don't worry I will be sure to capture it on film! LOL I will be posting links in the futire for you to vote on the cutest little martial arts artist there is. Of course there will be others with her...
Ok see y'all later

My daughter came over yesterday and brought the Dixie Chopper and cut the grass. It took her 2 hours to cut the place. the same area she cut would have taken me about 10 hours on my mower. That is one heck of a machine! I would love to have this machine!
I used the weed eater while she was cutting grass. Between working in the garden and that my back is killing me today!
It does a body good to get outside again.
Today is the 10th. 5 days to go on taxes. Have you filed yours yet?
I got a new phone. I like it and I hate it. I cannot hear any of the ring tones on it. I have been looking into buying one. It appears the only one I can hear so far is an ambulance! Not sure I want that one. I was hoping I could record something and set it as my ring tone but that is not possible. The phone won't do that. But it takes great pictures! LOL and I can hear people talking on it real good. I am thinking that maybe if I got a Bluetooth I will not have to worry about the ring tones
Dryer is buzzing(it is never done!) have a good day.

I had a good long talk with my oldest sister today. It was good to talk to her.
pat and I went out to dinner last night, treat of the kids. It was good to get away from here even if only for a little while. Afterwards we went and played pool. Things were going well then, I don't know... it got a bit tense. Some days it don't pay to get out of bed.
Anyway it was beautiful today. I said that already LOL. I cleaned up the small garden spot and hopefully it will dry out some. There were lots of wiggle worms in it. That is good. I need to get out and rake up the pine needles and spread them under mu holly bushes to slow down the weeds there.
My goal this month is to burn the old barn, move the deck into place and put my pond in. It is a small 5 foot pond with a little waterfall. Good luck to me.
Anybody have eczema? I need something that works on it. It has popped up in a tender spot(think top) and the itching is driving me crazy! I have not had a flareup in several years.
Anybody save cans? I do. I need to sell some. It has gone up to 70 cents a pound locally and 85 cents a pound in Chattanooga. A sure sign that the economy is crappy. All this we may be nearing a recession or maybe we are in one is bull hockey. I say we are in one. More people losing their homes and filing bankruptcies than ever before. More businesses are shutting down, more people out of work, more people seeking help and not finding it. Where will it end? When willit end? When our economy collapses completely? When we are in a full blown depression?
I have quit buying paper towels and paper napkins. I am using hand towels again like my mama used to. $2 for a roll of paper towels compared to $5 for 5 towels. The towels win. Yes, I have to wash them but in the long run it is far cheaper to use towels.
Ok I am out of here. I need to quit thinking again. Dang thinking gets me down sometimes.

Be right back. The dryer buzzed.
Looks like I will be going to America's Best for my glasses WHEN I have $300. Glue will not hold the broken piece together(too much stress there) so clear tape it is. I did some checking around and prices are through the roof. Insurance no longer covers glasses so I am on my own. I am not able to get their 2 for 1 because of my prescription. I am extreme nearsighted with astigmatism and bifocals. My eyes are old before my time. I cannot risk losing my eyesight. Losing that will also be losing most of my hearing. You have to have eyes to read lips. No I am not total deaf. I do have some hearing, about 40% in each ear but that is not enough to always know what is being said all the time. I miss a lot or misinterpret what has been said. I am used to it since I have been this way since birth but that does not mean I like it! I tell everyone, if you can hear good never ever complain about the noise. Try going through a day when you have 8 birds not 10 feet away from you and you cannot hear them sing except for a note here and there. I never heard a cricket or a bird or a locust, or a katydid until I was in 5th grade and got my first hearing aid. I don't have one now. That is another thing insurance won't cover. $1500 a pop is out of my budget by a long shot. Funny thing insurance is. It will cover pills to help ED but not birth control. It will pay for a nose job but not glasses or hearing aids. Glasses and hearing aids are "cosmetic". Like a nose job is not?? A nose job can be done to "correct" a deviated septum. They know how to word it so insurance pays.
Enough of that already.
Weight. I am done to 189 this morning. That still classifies me as obese on the BMI scale. Tomorrow I might be back up to 190 but for today I will take it, I am under 190!
Ok time for my strawberry smoothie. Y'all have a great day.

Life gets in a whirlwind and then grinds to a halt. Actually I just jump off of the life track sometimes because I am tired of dealing with it.
Brook is plugging on in getting her black belt. It is on May 23rd if anybody wants to come see her. There will be a party afterwards.
It was 80 yesterday and today my feet are cold. It is not supposed to get as warm. It was warm but the ground is still wet. It rained...again.
I was playing cards last night with a few of my online friends and someone that likes to disrupt the game by cheating and generally being nasty and mean sat down at our table. I really do not understand what people get out of it. First of all, why cheat? It is a card game for tokens, no money. Even if money was involved, why cheat? I do not understand cheating. When Brook was smaller and when my daughter was little, I played to win when we played games. I taught them that throwing a game is the same as cheating. People ask me why not let them win? They are kids and I tell that throwing a game is cheating and I do not want them to do that. When they win, they earned it. It makes them try harder. Sure they would get mad sometimes but victory was all the more sweeter when they EARNED it.
I have found in the card games that some people used their online person to bully, cheat, be nasty , mean. I pity them.
There's my rant for the day. I need some socks on my feet! Laundry is calling and so is the kitchen. I wonder when I get to hire a maid??
