update

An update about the dog. It is a pit bull or pit bull mix. It has now attacked Crystal, Pat's horse. She has a bite on her leg. Luckily not too bad, does not need stitches but will need medicine and daily cleaning. She is up to date on all shots including rabies. The animal control will not do anything unless I catch the dog and keep it until they get here. They have cages but do not have any available. HAAA. Those cages are not strong enough to hold a large dog. He did say that I have every right to shoot the animal as it is attacking my animals. We have wild animals around here and I am not afraid of them. There have been sightings of a bear, coyotes, and wildcats in our pasture. This dog, I am afraid of. What if he comes around in the daytime when Brook is outside playing? So yes, I will shoot this dog, and I will shoot to kill.

30 day commitment

A journal friend of mine has decided to commit herself to doing something for 30 days. Read about it here~ My life in a Nutshell. I will be joining her. It is something I need to do and have been wanting to do. I just did not want to do it by myself. I have been thinking. That is right. I fired up the brain cells. In the journal Confessions of a Madman there is an entry that talks about habits. In it he said that it takes 30 days to make a habit. So I will give it a try. Maybe this 30 day commitment is just what I need to do it. How about you? Do you have a habit you need to start or break? Go visit and let Jae know if you accept her challenage to commit yourself to 30 days.

I count yesterday a success. My ribs were so good! I rubbed garlic and onion powder on them, started them in the oven, just enough to get them a little off pink. I then transferred them to the grill. I had some hickory chips smoking on it so they got a good dose of flavor. My BBQ sauce was a mixture of several things. I start with Kraft Hickory honey, add onions, crushed garlic, chopped bell peppers, honey, Dale's Seasoning, Whostershire Sauce and apple juice. I start mopping that on the ribs after they have been on the grill for about 30 minutes. About every 10 -15 minutes I put some more on. I had baked beans, corn on the cob, bread and Orange Fluff too. Notice I have Orange Fluff every holiday! One of Candiac's girlfriends came down with her 2 boys. Her GF had to go to her Mama's house and was unable to come down. Everyone ate too much! I still have a watermelon in the fridge waiting to be cut. Maybe I will do that today.

I did some tilling last evening in the big garden. Of course it has rained all night long so no planting today. Supposed to rain all week. Lucky for me, everything I am planting can take summer heat.

Well got to go. I need to get Stinker a collar that will protect his neck from this strange dog that is attacking him. I will catch this dog one of these nights. It has the nerve to come up to our porch and attack our dog. It is bigger and stronger than Stinker. Stinker will fight to the death if need be. He has part boxer in him and cowdog. He will protect his homebase from anything or die trying. I have not been able to get a shot at the other dog. I do not want to risk hitting Stinker. I like that big ole mutt.

Friday

Ok summer is moving too fast already. I cannot believe it has been a week since school was out. Today I signed Brook up for day camp while I have jury duty. Hopefully I get dismissed from it early. Not sure of what is coming up. I am afraid I will be picked this time around. I have no idea of what has been happening! When the bad stuff comes on I try to turn it off or do something else. I know silly. Kind of like hiding your head in the sand. I know there is bad stuff out there. I lived it enough in my own life. I want to hear good stuff. I do believe that if you hear more good stuff and do more good stuff, then the bad stuff quits taking over.

Well I fight for computer time now. 4 people wanting on it all the time. So bare with me if things get a bit sparing.

This evening after Candiac got home, I went out and rode my tractor. Hooked up the bush hog and started cutting. I got the very front field cut. If no rain I will start on the back field tomorrow or Monday.

Patches is doing a good job of eating up the overgraown places in the yard. He is getting better about me leading him on a leash too.

Memorial Day coming up. They are predicting rain for our area on Monday. I am BBQing ribs on Sunday. I think Candiac has invited a few people down. No word on if they are coming yet. No matter I will cook all I want! LOL I like cooking. I like people to eat it. I like to eat it. Oh dear, now I am hungry!

Not sure of where I intended to go here. Just started wandering around. Well time to put Patches up. See y'all around. Thanks for stopping by.

Today

National Missing Children's Day
For the past 22 years, May 25 has been designated as National Missing Children's Day. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, nearly 800,000 children are reported missing every year. That is the equivalent of more than 2,000 children being reported missing each day. On May 25, we renew our commitment to help protect the children in our communities.

How You Can Help

  • Check out photographs of missing children in your area at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's Web site. 1 in 6 child recoveries featured in their photo distribution program is recovered as a direct result of someone recognizing their photo and calling authorities.
  • Sign up for AOL AMBER Alerts to receive notifications of child abductions in your area so you can aid in the effort to find them. You can sign up to receive AOL AMBER Alerts via IM (Instant Message), e-mail, cell phone, pager, or other mobile device. Since 1997, 204 children have been recovered through the AMBER Alert program.
  • Make sure you have current, clear photographs of each of your children, for use in case of an emergency.

    Brook

Last Friday was Brook's last day of school. I am so proud of her. She recieved several awards. She got one for being on the Star Roll all year. She got one for outstanding achievement in technology. She got another one for Achievement on the CRCT. She almost got a perfect score on it! I am so proud of her. LOL She is proud of the Technology award. She helps other students move around on the internet and , printing and other things. The little squirt could read IM chat before she could read real words! LOL Brook is now in the second grade preparing for one of the hardest tests she has ever taken. She is wanting to get in the gifted class, called Kaleidoscope. It is tough to get into. They take several tests and must do a creative writing assignment just to get in it. This is after they are recommended by a teacher. With her test scores in, I am sure she will be recommended for it. My little angel!

    yesterday

Hi! I'm back. Yes I am feeling better. My back has been tired all week and yesterday I just flat out over did it. I started out by pulling the newest member of our family about 300 feet to his eating area. I pulled in one direction and he pulled in the other. I guess you are asking what new member? Let me introduce you to Patches. He is a 6 month old goat. He has been fixed, so he does not give off that billy goat odor. Not very big is he? He is half pygmy goat. I know. You are saying aw he can't pull very hard! Anybody that has ever had any dealing with a goat knows that no matter what his size is he can pull hard! So anyway, I got him because the people that had him were tired of him getting out and eating their flowers! Well goats do that. They did not have the proper fence for a goat. I don't either. I have a dog pen 10 x 10 x 6 that I am keeping him in. I take him out on he morning and tie him out in a place that needs eating! I had a goat that I used to do that with. He will have to get used to it.  He will soon. He will realize that when I come get him in the morning I am taking him to food!
The next thing I did was weed eat grass. First I weed-eated around here then we went up to his mama's house and did her yard. She is not there and the people we hired did not show up to do it. By the time we got home my back was exhausted. It is better today but still weak.
Today the phone company came out and replace the phone line from the house to the phone box. Hopefully all the noise problems will be cleared up!
Candiac is going tonight to take the entrance exam at the school today to see if she can start college level classes or will have to take remedial classes. She has a GED that is why she has to do that.
I made lasagna yesterday for lunch. Not something I do very often. Maybe once every 3 years. It weighed about 10 pounds! Lots of cheese! I use 5 kinds of cheese in it. Not for the faint at heart!
Well got to go. Time for TaeKwonDo!

    Patricks Sat Six

Once again it is time for Patrick's Saturday Six.

    1. What is the last product or service you tried just because you saw a commercial that impressed or amused you about the product?  Did you like the product or service after you tried it?
I really cannot think of anything.

    2. How old is the oldest photograph in your home?  Are you in it?
The oldest photo I have is that of my great grand father. It is pre-Civil War is all I know.
    3. What is the most supernatural event you have experienced?  Did you feel there was a specific reason that it happened to you?
A visit from my Daddy at the time of his death. I believe that it was supposed to comfort me. He said goodbye to me even though I was unable to say goodbye to him.
    4. Do you usually consider the glass half-empty or half-full?
    half empty.
    5. What part or parts of your body do you shave regularly?
Well I just do not shave on a regular basis. Since I broke my back it gets tiring to bend over for that length of time. Lucky for me My hair grows slow!
    6. What day is typically your busiest of the week?  What day are you usually the happiest?  What day are you usually the saddest?
Sometimes it is all the same day. There is no particular day that any of it occurs.

    Riverbend

It is that time of the year again. Riverbend time! Click here for full info It takes place June 10th-18th this year. This is the 25th year for it. Every year it has gotten bigger. Riverbend is a giantic music festival that is a great buy for the money. $26 in advance and $35 at the gate. Kids 10 and under are free! That price covers not 1 but 10 days of music! Just about every type of music is covered there. I remember the first year that it literally bust thru the seams! It was the year the Pointer Sisters came. They were expecting a crowd of about 25000 and got over 70000!  The main stage is a floating stage on the Tennessee River. The acts playing there are<<<drum roll please>>>> KID ROCK~ BOYZ 2 MEN~ MICHEAL MCDONALD with the CHATTANOOGA SYMPHONY~ NEWSBOYS~ BIG AND RICH with COWBOY TROY~ TRACE ADKINS~ KENI THOMAS & CORNBREAD~ CHEAP TRICK~ PAT BENATAR & NEIL GIRALDO. That is just one stage. There are 6 stages. On Monday night is the Bessie Smith Strut. This is the one event that does not require a pin. The festival takes to the streets! It is a blues and BBQ celebration. Really great BBQ can be found there! And yes there is a strut! Thousands of people every year strut down Martian L.King Blvd. There is also Family Faith night. It only costs $5 for a one day admission to it. No beer is sold that night and it is a night of Christain activities and music.

So if you have nothing better to do during that time. Come on down and join us. Plenty of hotels in the area and campgrounds. There are also several marinas in the area if you want to bring your boat here.

    phone

Good morning. I have not made any entries in the last couple of days because it was so frustrating to try to stay on line. After months of fighting with the phone company about the noise on my phone line, they finally found the problem. It was exactly where I have been telling them it was all along! They kept telling me the line was clear. Excuse me but I knew it was not clear! After dealing with this problem for months, please do not treat me like I am an idiot, like I am imagining the problem. Who is the idiot now? Idiots.

    how it went

I have decided no more birthdays! Every year something happens. 28 years ago I found out I was pregnant, on my birthday. Not married and no support. Oh sure I had my baby's daddy. He was not happy. Over the years, different things, some things worse that others.... I had to place my daughter in a children's home for several months...(she needed a safe environment) on my birthday. Anyway, this year I had to mop the floor. My washer of 4 years old, decided that it was time to show me where the little bit of water had been coming from. I thought it was my A/C unit leaking on the floor. i was wrong. The tub had a crack in it and yesterday it decided to put the water on the floor almost as fast as it went in the washer! All that water gushing out of the machine also shorted out the pump motor. We already knew that it would cost almost as much to fix that one as it would be to get a new one. So with a great amount of curse words(his not mine. I had tears) the washer was thrown (not really, just figurativly) out the back door. The one thing our extened warrenty did not cover was a PLASTIC TUB! I did not know that until yesterday.

Anyways it make up for his ill temper he took me to Wendy's for a free Frosty Jr. They were giving them away this past weekend. Then we went to Walmart and walked around. I bought a new purse and he got a new shirt(both were clearance items) and got new fishing licenses. Our Walmart has something new. They are selling live crickets. Not the ones in a cardboard carton but the kind they have to scoop out and give you. I like that! Ilike fishing with crickets. I always have good luck with them.

Today I bought a new machine. A Maytag with a stainless steel tub, lifetime warrenty on it and basket. Very nice machine with 25 wash cycles and a second rinse! I love that part. I cannot tell you how many times I have put something thru another rinse cycle!

Right now Brook is outside in the pool. It is not thru filling up but is playable in.  I have the window open so I can hear her and of course I do not get more than a minute of typing done and I am looking out the window.

Time to get supper cooked and Brook ready for Tae Kwon Do. See y'all later

    My interview

I agreed to be interviewed by Dawn. If anyone wants to be interviewed by me just ask.
    1. What do you believe is the single greatest thing you've learned about life?

That if you are always told you are nothing you will believe you are nothing unless you take steps and change what you were taught to believe.
    2. What is the most significant thing you most would like to pass on to Brook?

    Strength
    3. How did you meet Pat and what first attracted you to him?

I met Pat thru a blind setup. Neither one of us knew that we were being set up to meet. It was in a bar/poolhall. The first thing I noticed about him was his arms. When he walked in the door, he had on a knit shirt that was tight around his arms. Um Um Um I had a vision of them holding me!
    4. You seem to have quite a few pets, like I do, and usually people who get animals, like we do, know that there's always a special story attached to how they came to be a member of the family.  Do any of your pets have a special story like that?

Actually there are several. I think that I will tell about Sebastian. Sebastian is my oldest cat. I had a puppy that I thought needed a companion. So I went to the dog pound( yes that is what it was called). I was looking for a kitten because I knew that I did not want another dog ( I am not really a dog person). I had one cat already but he was a snob and would not have anything to do with a puppy. Anyway they said that they did not have anything except for one kitten that they were going to put down that evening. It was a tiny thing that was not old enough to be away from its mama. Someone had left it in a box outside the pound and when it was found it was almost dead. It was just a little skinny orange ball of fur. They thought that it was maybe 3 weeks old. I told them to just let me have him and they said ok. They did not make me pay a fee for him. He was so little! I took him straight to the vet. The vet said that he might not make it. That he was actually only about 2 weeks old. She gave him a shot of B12 and gave me some formula to feed him. She was going to give him an IV but because he was so dehydrated she could not hit a vein. I took him home and fed him and the puppy cuddled with him and kept licking him. Sebastian made it, the puppy did not. He got provo even though he did have his shots.
    5. What is one thing you believe people would be surprised to know about you?
I never read a book twice. I cannot read something that I have read before. I do not like to read something when I already know how it ends. If I start reading something and I have read it before I will put it back down. And usually I know within the first couple pages if I have read it beforeeven if it has been 30 years since I read it. Yes I will read Brook her stories over and over again, but that is her reading not mine.

    Saturday, May 14, 2005

I went shopping today. Man o man. Things are getting high. I did buy me something I have not owned in a long time. A bathing suit! I have not had one in 20 years. I guess if I am going to have a pool then I need the right stuff for it!

Brook today signed up for a summer reading program. The goal is to read 25 books before school starts back. For her that should be no problem! She is wanting to sign up for the one at the library also. That one starts in a couple weeks. I am so glad that she likes to read. Another thing, that kid will go to FUNBRAIN in a heartbeat!

Well I am by myself tonight. Pat and Candy went out together. I guess I will bake my birthday cake.

Candy bought me a new dress for my birthday. She gave it to me early so I can wear it to church tomorrow. That's it for now. I will get off now and mope around.

    Weekend #59

Once again it is time for John's weekend assignment.

Weekend Assignment #59: We've all had teachers who have made a difference in our lives. Tell us about one of yours. It can be a teacher from any level of education, from kindergarten to graduate school.

    Extra Credit:
Tell us your second favorite subject in school.

When I think back I have to pick my second grade teacher, Mrs. Rogers.  She had jet black hair and a large hook beak nose. Kids would call her a witch behind her back. In first grade I was labeled a slow learner. I did not realize that , all I knew is that I was in the reading group with the ones that could not read very well. Which  was strange but I never said anything about it. I was reading by the time I was 4 and could do multiplication when I started school. I had a problem reading out loud. Combined with being shy and hearing disabled (no one knew I had a BIG hearing loss at that time) and eyes that were getting weak, well I guess I probably was slow. Mrs. Rogers noticed that the books I was checking out of the library was 3rd level books and up. She had me read out of one of them one day and immediately moved me into the highest level reading group. My problem was not that I could not read it was that I could not SAY the words out loud. I had a speech impediment. She would work with me on saying the words. Back in those days there weren't speech classes in our school. From that day on I loved school. At least I loved schoolwork!

It is really hard to pick the second favorite class. LOL I guess I would have to say baking. I loved going to that class and baking new things. I have always liked trying new recipes and now I could let others taste them! We had a homework assignment every week where we had to try a new recipe and have 5 people taste test it. I did not have 5 people so I had to bring mine to class. My teacher and classmates got to have dessert every week. I never had leftovers. My teacher complained I was making her gain too much weight! She was pregnant at the time.

    P. S. In high school I had access to everybody's permanent record. I looked up mine and found a few things out like my test scores and what teachers might have written on there for the whole world to see. My first grade teacher had written that I was slow and recommended that I be tested for retardation. LOL I was on the star roll for my entire time in school and my IQ test was NOT below normal. Until I reached college I never had to study for a test.

    as promised

Been busy busy busy. I worked on the pool today as I did not get to it yesterday other than pulling it out of the shed. I have it all set up and water going in it now as we speck. The water is so warm! I will be happy to pop in it when I get thru working in the garden!

Yesterday at my doctor I found out that I had gained 6 pounds in 3 months! That made me upset. My BP was a bit higher than normal too. She also said my throat was flame red. I kind of figured that. I have been dealing with a sinus headache for a couple days. Easy to fix this problem. But the weight gain......The doctor called today and it was good news bad news. My sugar was good, my thyriod was out of whack again! And so was my cholesterol. Back to adjusting my dosage. My cholesterol is probably connected to the change in my thyriod level. And it also is probably what has caused me to gain weight!Anyway that made me feel better to know that the weight gain is more than likely because of thyriod level.

BTW The cat managed to clean himself up!

Pictures. I promised pictures. Here they are. First up is me and Candiac on Mother's Day

Up next is my darling cutting in my garden

Next comes trouble. First is Bubba and Buddy

Then Bubba and Putt Putt.   Can you guess as to who is trouble?

    Grumble

I want my tea! I want some food! You know it is really hard to get up at 5:30 in the morning and not eat or drink. Today is fasting bloodwork day. I am getting tests done for sugar, thyroid, and cholesterol. It has been 3 months since my last test. thank goodness! I was really getting tired of giving it every month!

Ughhhhhh! I just smelled a horrible stink! I looked down and my Buddy was sitting at me feet. He was stinky! Buddy is a long, white-haired kitten. Apparently he has eaten something that has disagreed with his stomach. He has poopie all over his butt!. He was cleaning himself up but not in here! I put him outside!. Later on I might give him a bath. Notice I said MIGHT! He has never had one and he is not the most loveable cat. Buddy used to be named Bunny until we figured out he was a boy. He developed kind of late if you know what I mean. And being real fluffy it was hard to tell when he was little.

Pictures. I have pictures to be posted later today! No time right now.

Ok it is time for me to get all cats out of the house. I also need to load up the truck with the Goodwill items. Been doing some 27 flings and have some stuff to get rid of. My appointment is in 45 minutes. See everyone later!

    Wednesday, May 11, 2005

I am almost at 10000! WOW!!:-)

Yesterday evening we had a specticular display outside of Master Lee's studio. There were rainbows in the sky. That is correct. I said rainbows. A beauiful double arch graced us with its presence. Both arches could clearly be seen from end to end. The colors became increasing brighter and richer as I stood there watching. There is just something about seeing a rainbow that just brings peace to you. It was kind of odd though. Normally you see a rainbow after the storm, this was before the storm. As we left Tae Kwon Do last night lightning danced across the sky. Streaks with many fingers flashed all around us. Waves of water crashed down on us with each flash. Nature was showing me just a hint of her power. This morning she was showing me again how strong she is. There was a heavy fog with almost zero visibility. I could not see our driveway from my kitchen window. It is upposed to get to 85 today and bright sunshine. It is amazing the extremes of nature that can happen in just 24 hours.

Yesterday we got started on putting our pool up. We shoveled out a load of sand to go under it. We have the area level now the best we can this year. Today I may be setting up the pool. It will take a couple days for it to fill. I would like to put some more sand under it but that will have to wait until next year. I never knew just how much sand cost!

Time for me to get another cup of tea and get started on my day. Have a good hump day everyone!

    another one

I got this from riverdaughter196. It is a private journal so I cannot link you

    Dragons are powerful...
You're A Dragon! Whether you're the fire, electric, or
ice dragon, you are very powerful and wise.
Fire Dragons usually live in caves, electric
dragons live in valleys, and ice dragons live
in mountain tops. A dragon represents wisdom,
    magic, love, grace, power, intelligence,
determination, honesty, and freedom. You tend
to be a little explosive when your angry, so a
dragon can cause lightning storms, blizzards,
or heat waves. Dragons are solitary creatures,
or they live together, just not near humans.
Whichever dragon you are, you certainly are a
    rare mythical creature.

    My e-mail box is empty!!!

Parents often talk about the younger generations as if they didn't have anything to do with it.

    Yesterday

Yesterday was the first Mother's Day in a long time that I felt about good about the day. Mother's Day has had bad memories for me since the time my daughter was a pre-teen. Every year it was one bad thing after another. I swear that she did her best to make me regert being a mother. It felt like that she hated me. Not just on Mother's Day but everyday. Mother's Day just kind of drove the point home.

Brook had given me a thing that she made at school. It had little hearts on popsicle sticks that had chores on it for her to do. Made me cry! I never expected her to give it to me. My daughter gave me some popourii and a cup. I love getting cups. I change out cups all the time. I am a big hot tea drinker. We got Candy a stand alone Queen Anne style jewelry box. She really liked it. She then fixed breakfast for all of us. Brook and I then got ready for church and left. We had a guest preacher. Our pastor's father had unexpectedly died the day before. Anyway, the message he gave was wonderful. It was about mothers of course. He talked about how some women are mothers and others are just childbearers. He stressed the fact that just because you give birth that does not make you a mother. He said that the title of MOTHER is earned. There were quite a few tears in church yesterday. After we got home Brook and Candy went swimming. When they got back Candy took us out to eat. We went to O'Charleys and were seated right away! After eating we went to the flea market. Next came a trip to Walmart. I got some tomato plants. After we got home we got the horses out for a ride. They did real good. Precious is as big as a barrel! I have to watch her she will eat until she pops! I cannot understand how come she has never foundered. She has coliced before. The vet said it was from eating frosted grass. I guess I need to get me a new linge rope and start exercising her more on the days I do not ride. Belle does real good now. She is neck reining more each time. Brook tried to ride her but Belle would not go for her. She would follow Pat around the yard! LOL It was so funny. Brook was trying her best to kick her and get her going!. We need to train her to respond to a neck slap. that may be better than kicking her. My day ended and now a new day is here. Gotta get busy cooking something for the wake today. See yall later!

    Mothers Day

    Saturday, May 7, 2005

Once again it is time for the Saturday Six.Visit Patrick to see what others are saying.

    1. What is your single biggest frustration right this minute?
LOL Funny , but I really cannot think of any right now.

    2. What classic television show would you most like to see made into a modern-day movie?  What classic movie do you think you'd like to see remade?
I really cannot think of any. I like them just the way they are. Classic movies are that, classics. Why mess with what is already good? And if it was bad then, what gives them the idea it can be made good now?

    3. How many people in your family are war veterans?  Of those, how many have you actually talked to about their experiences in war?
Let's see. My father-WW2,my 2 uncles-WW2,My husband-Vietnam. All of them had spoken some of their experiences. Mostly they were quiet about them. yesterday

Yesterday was a full day. Lazy one too! brook had a Demo at her school. The children's team preformed their routine 7 times. It was Career Day and there were lots of people there. We got Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Mayfield Ice Cream. YUMMY!!! Afterwards she got a t-shirt for doing it LOL. Navy, fire trucks, ambulance, insurance agents, wrestlers,go kart racer, vet, doctors, truck drivers, and police were just a few of the people there. There were some Marines there that had just arrived back from Iraq. It was a good day for the kids. I brought Brook home afterwards. She was pretty tired. When her mama got home a short time later( it had started raining so she could not work) those 2 took off to a friend's house. Pat played on the computer for awhile. I watched my shows. We then got dressed and went out! We went to dinner at Golden Corral and then to Walmart. Did not buy anything, just looked. Then we went to play pool. I was dropping those balls in the pocket like I had never quit shooting! Then home and to bed. Today has been a bit lazy again. that is about to change. Pat just called me and he picked up a flat of fresh Tennessee strawberries for me. He also picked up a load of gravel for us to shovel out in the driveway! We may go out again tonight. Brook is having a little girl spend the night and Candy will have her hands full! well gotta go. Pat is here now and so is Brook!

just going on and on and on....

I am alone doing laundry right now among other things. Actually the laundry is waiting on the dishwasher to quit running. We do not have enough water pressure to run 2 appliances at the same time (or take a shower!) It does slow things down a bit but I take full advantage of it. HEHE I am here at the computer! Pat is up the street at a neighbor's house helping him fix the lights on his trailer. After they finish that I believe that they are going to go pickup a bull dozer that Pat's uncle gave him. I have big plans for that dozer! I do wish I had a back hoe to go with it! I cannot wait to learn how to use it. Ok, so maybe I am not exactly a girly girl. No rain has been predicted for this week so hopefully I will get some work down on the big garden. The temperatures have been a bit cool to plant seed crops. Last night was another cold night. Tomorrow is Career Day at Brook's school. She will be giving a demo at the school for Tae Kwon Do. I believe that I will take her home afterwards. Not for sure, but it is a good possibility. Made chili last night for dinner. I know it is not a spring meal, but you know 55 degrees is not spring time temps either! Saw a question earlier today on LifeNStuff.  This is Mosie1944 of My Country Life's daughter. It is really making me think. Go there and see what you think. I am working on my answer and will be posting it later on. Hummmm. The dishwasher is through so it is time to get back to laundry. Time to do my 15 minutes too. Thank you Flylady for the reminder. It is also Anti-Procrastination Day. Gotta figure out something to do. There is sooooooooo many things I have been putting off! Well I will get busy now. Have a great day!!!

    OOoo

Be sure and click the archive link! It is neat!

    It has begun

Has anybody noticed the new box that is now in journal entries when you read them? Does this mean that AOL is now archiving our journal entries so they cannot be lost? Did something good come out of the mess that has been going on?

Forgive me this week if I am not on as much. My Pat is on vacation this week and everybody knows how that goes! He hogs the computer!!!

Yesterday was a lovely day. A bit on the cool side with the wind blowing but lovely just the same. I am hoping to get outside and enjoy more of this good weather.

I got up this morning to a clear night. The new moon was shining bright. Strange how that small sliver of a moon can give off so much light. I opened the door to a variety of sensations. My skin felt the sharp coldness of the early morning air. In the distance was the gentle lowing of cattle. On the hill to my right was the sounds of a dog barking. Out in my field I heard the blow of one of our horses, followed by the bray of our visiting donkey. The aroma of horse poop and onions drifted on the early morning air. I heard the purr of Little Bit while she nursed her new born babies. The night sounds were slowing giving way to the sound of people. I heard a car go by out front and the hum of a plane flying overhead. Inside now, Peaches and Chip are fluttering in their cage. Chip is singing to greet the day. Susie is at my feet, winding herself around my legs, demanding her share of me. In the kitchen, I hear the sound of Bubba growling at the others, probably telling them to leave the food for him. My cup of tea is warming me up as I wait the time to get Brook up. My day has begun.

This will be a good day to live.
